One Good Turn Deserves Another

*****

I had the perfect day. It was idyllic. We didn't go
anywhere. We didn't really do anything special. Ordinarily
I would have called it a boring day, but today I was
grateful for it. Quiet, calm. Tranquil. The rain had a lot
to do with it. It made us spend time together, instead of
us all going in different directions. Let's face it,
Snookums isn't going to be home forever. We need days like
today. Family time.

I cooked a lot today. I synonymize family time with
cooking. It's an age-old way to show you love someone.
Snookums played games with the kids. They ran through the
house like wild-children. It was great. By the time
bedtime came around, the girls were more than ready for
bed. Not a bad thing, if you ask me.

I gave myself a project to complete. The grandparents are
constantly bugging me for updated pictures of the kids, so
I went through all of our photos and did a couple digital
scrapbooks. One for Annie's camp pictures and one for
Keenan's latest pictures. Hopefully now the grandparents
will get off my back for a little while.

There really isn't a whole lot to say about today, so I
think I'll just go spend some time with Snookums. He's got
duty tomorrow. I swear it feels like he's had duty a lot
lately. Probably because he has. He's taking duty for the
people who covered his duty while he was on leave. One
good turn deserves another. Ciao.
