The Whole Enchilada

****

Thankfully, today was 1000 times better than yesterday. I
can't imagine it would have taken much for today to be
better than yesterday. All things considered. The whole
situation could have been worse and was fixed in a
relatively short time, so I'm able to put it behind me
now. Thanks to Snookums.

The hazmat crew took care of cleaning the house, but they
didn't clean our stuff. They just bagged it and put it on
the back patio. Thankfully, I didn't have a bunch of
laundry that needed to be done, because the few bits of
clothes that were in the bottom of baskets down there were
ruined. Snookums was able to get the day off (because we
still needed to clean up) and he did all the work for me.
Bleaching our laundry baskets, washing the clothes that
could be saved and just getting all of our stuff put back.
I got to sleep in :)

We've decided that we need a new sitter. Someone to watch
the kids the occasional weekend evening and during the
week when I'm at work and Snookums is out to sea. Selena
is a nice girl, but she's not reliable (because she's got
a regular job and is hardly ever available when I need
her) and she's kind of young for her age. She's 22 years
old, but acts like she's 14. Which might be endearing if
she didn't let my kids walk all over her. So, I made up
some fliers and after Snookums was done cleaning we took a
long walk and posted them on the bulletin boards over the
mail boxes. We have community mail boxes here in Jackson
Park. An entire street has a kiosk in the middle where all
the boxes are housed under a little roof. I figure someone
checking their mail will see our flyer and respond. Or
will know someone who'd like a little job on the side. Our
demographic is responsible teenagers, community college
kids still living at home or young Navy wives that don't
have their own kids yet. I hope we get some takers. Our
plan is to interview them together (Snookums and I) and
maybe have them meet with the children if they pass the
initial inspection. Whoever we like best wins. Now we just
have to get some calls!

I had a great evening at work. I was assigned to the bra
wardrobing center. I made my bra goals easily. We had good
traffic tonight. I still have my touch. The ability to
know someone's bra size without needing a tape measure. I
still use one for credibility, but I have a gift. What can
I say :) No credit cards tonight. I don't feel bad about
that. I wasn't on registers.

The strangest thing happened while I was putting a bra
away at the front of the store. The Biofit bras are kept
in a launch pad right by the entrance. A BIG black guy
came in (I mean at least 7', 400 pounds. Linebacker
material) and headed over to Very Sexy. He had his back to
me, so I walked over to him to see if he needed any help.
When he turned to respond to me I got the shock of my
life. Even though he was wearing men's clothes and spoke
in a deep male voice, his face was completely done up! I
mean the whole enchilada. Purple eyeshadow, false
eyelashes, pink rouge and coral lipstick. It was crazy! Of
course I had to act like I see that kind of thing every
day, but all I really wanted to do was laugh! My manager
Jenny did the same thing, then when he'd passed she
mouthed "did you see that". You wouldn't believe some of
the things you come across in a lingerie store. I think
doing a bra fitting on a tranny was my finest moment.
Anyway, he looked around for a few minutes then just left.
We couldn't figure out what was up with him. Was he
tranny? Confused? Or maybe he just lost a bet. I'd put
money on the lost bet.

I'm so tired. Snookums has already gone to bed. He just
left me out here. He acts like I spend so much time
writing in my diary. I hate it when he pressures me. If he
hadn't been so nice to me today I'd be mad at him. Ciao.
