My Life Thus Far

The Evening Rush

****

I'm writing early tonight because I'm tired and if I
don't, I might not write later. Not to mention the house
is quiet right now and I have a free moment before the
evening rush starts. The evening rush is what I call the
hours between 6pm and 8pm. Dinner, baths, homework (during
the school year) and bedtime. It's crazy. By the time the
kids are down, I'm ready to go down too. Snookums is
always rushing me to hurry up and write so we can go to
bed. I hate that. 3 years I've been writing in this diary,
you'd think he'd be used to waiting for me to finish by
now.

Nothing of any interest happened today. Sometimes I wish
there were tantalizing things to share, but not for the
most part. I'm loving my laid back, drama-free life.
Ordinary, everyday things are boring sometimes, but that's
what my life entails at the moment. I've done a little
laundry and a little cleaning. I got the second bra and
panty set I ordered from the La Leche League in the mail.
That was pretty much the highlight of my day. The rest of
the time I took care of the baby and worked with Kiki on
her potty-training.

Speaking of Kiki's potty-training, it's actually starting
to go pretty well. She's about 80% trained. She's staying
dry overnight (a miracle) and going to the bathroom when
we tell her to, but for some reason she doesn't seem to
know when she needs to go. If we forget and don't send her
to the bathroom, she wets herself every time. It's
frustrating, but at least we're making progress. She's had
a successful couple of days.

In the interest of self-improvement and making myself feel
better I've decided to seriously consider getting back in
the gym. I'm not going to get obsessive about it, but I do
want to get back in shape really bad! I haven't had my
postpartum check-up yet, but I don't think a little light
elliptical work will do me any harm. Aside from a sore
stitch site I'm sure I'm fully recovered.

Snookums just got home from taking Kiki to the park and he
brought me a cute present he found along the way. A rock
shaped like a heart. He was very proud of his little gift.
He's so sweet. My gift to him will be dinner, which I'm
off to fix now. Ciao!
