My Life Thus Far
On Borrowed Time
****
I don't have a whole lot of time to write. Keenan is due
to eat again at any moment, so I'm on borrowed time. He's
asleep in his swing very peacefully. I'm crossing my
fingers he stays that way! Sue spent most of today sitting
at the computer again. How do I tell her to move so I can
write in my diary? As much as I'd like to just tell her to
deal with our too soft couches, she is Jason's mother and
I don't want to be rude. I'd also like to stick to my
routine, too though. I don't write this late, unless I
want to. Not because I have to wait for her to go to bed.
Oh well. It's only for a few more days and it's a small
inconvenience. There's too much complaining in the world,
so I'm going to stop.
The day went by pretty fast. Snookums came home from duty
early this morning. I think they gave everyone the day
off. We laid in bed together for a few hours while the
girls drove Grandma crazy :) That was nice. Not having to
get up with them right away. We came out around lunch time
and started our day then. Sue doesn't see the girls very
often. I didn't think she'd mind spending some quality
time with them while Snookums and I spent a little time
together.
I still had to keep Keenan with me so he could eat, but
he's been a little angel lately. We figured out what was
going on with the crying spells. He wanted to sleep in his
swing. That was all. Once I let go of the fact that he
wasn't going to sleep in the bassinet, everything worked
out from there. For the past week we've been averaging 6-7
hours a night. I'm sure it will only get better as he gets
older.
We all went out to lunch at the Chinese Buffet, then we
took the girls to play at the recreation area on Bangor.
They've got these two man-made lakes there that nature has
really embraced. You'd never guess they were put there by
engineers. The girls threw rocks in the water and we
walked along the path around the lakes. It was very
peaceful. Being there reminded me of when Annie and I
still lived with my parents and I used to bring her there
when she was Kiki's age. I would put her in her stroller
and walked the 3 miles from my parent's house every day
because I couldn't stand to be at home with my mother.
It's a long story. Trident lakes was my escape from the
chaos at home. I used to read books while Annie played
with other kids on the playground equipment and we'd bring
a lunch with us. Memories. So much has changed since then.
I got my package today! The bra and panty set I ordered
from The La Leche League International store. It fits
PERFECT! I was so stoked about it I went back and ordered
another set in Ivory (the one I got today is English Rose
or pink if you prefer). I wish I'd known about The La
Leche League's online store back when I was struggling to
find bras that would fit. I wouldn't be stuck with a
drawer full of cheap bras that don't fit quite right. The
quality of this bra is amazing. It's got snaps instead of
hooks to open the cup, which make the fact that it's a
nursing bra almost undetectable. There's a padded support
at the bottom of the cup, that goes underneath your breast
and gives great lift and comfort. It's fabulous. It's got
little lace details and tiny roses stitched to it, which
make it look super feminine and did I mention it's
comfortable? They get an A in my book.
That's really all I've got to share for today. Keenan is
still sleeping like an angel. I suppose it would be
pushing my luck to try to get in a shower? Yeah, probably.
Ciao.
