Less Then Stellar Behavior

****

I don't know if Snookums caught sight of what I wrote
earlier (he was sitting on the couch, but not really in
view of the computer) or he realized the err of his ways,
but Snookums redeemed himself for his less then stellar
behavior as of late.

The Navy put together this little children's carnival in
the chapel parking lot. I told Snookums about it
yesterday, but he didn't seem to give a rat's ass. Then
for some reason he had a change of heart. Snookums
volunteered to take the girls to it. When they got home
from that, Annie went to out to play with her friends and
Snookums took Kiki for some one-on-one, daddy/daughter
time. I don't know exactly what they did, but Kiki came
home very happy.

I'd just finished feeding Keenan as the two of them walked
in. Snookums had a little present (a bear) and a card for
me, which I thought was sweet. It thanked me for putting
up with his crankiness and distance. It was a nice
gesture.

It was my turn to go out at that point. I was going to
take myself to lunch, but I decide instead to do something
fun for the family. So, I stopped by the Exchange and
bought some grill items. New grates (the old ones are
rusted and yuck-looking), a brush to clean with and
charcoal. I bought steak at the Commissary, then rushed
home so I wouldn't be late for Keenan's next feeding.

For dinner I made a grill Asian skirt steak marinated in
onion, Hoisin sauce, teriyaki, soy sauce and lime with
fried rice. It was really good and went over very well
with the whole family. It was great doing something a
little out of the ordinary and now that I've got the grill
cleaned up and in usable condition I'll be doing more
grilling.

Keenan is fussing a little bit. Nothing too terrible at
the moment. I just hope I can keep him calm and it doesn't
escalate into an all-nighter. We've had two good nights. I
hope we can continue this trend. Ciao.
