My Life Thus Far

A Centering Force

****

I'm tired. Even though Snookums is here and helping me out
a lot with the baby and the older girls, I'm still pretty
wiped out at the end of the day. It's good though. I've
been sleeping great. No all-nighters. No doing laundry at
2am. Having Snookums home has been a centering force in my
life. Exactly what I've been needing the past couple
months.

This morning we piled our little clan into the car and
headed up to Bangor to enroll Keenan in DEERS (it's a
military thing, I'm not even sure how to explain it). That
took all of 5 minutes. Then we did some grocery shopping
at the Commissary up there. It wasn't the best grocery
shopping trip I've been on. It was busy, we had the whole
family with us. I'll probably go some time later this week
or next week with my detailed list and get the stuff we
didn't get today. I usually shop at the Bremerton
Commissary. I know the lay-out better.

Keenan has been really fussy today. The only thing that
satisfies him for even a moment is nursing, but he keeps
popping on and off constantly and milk leaks everywhere.
All over both of us and my milk is sticky. So between the
heat and sticky milk, I'm feeling pretty gross. The second
he settles down for the night, I'm taking a shower. Daddy
is trying his best to console him at the moment, but it's
not really working. I think we'll give him a bath. See if
that helps, then I'll nurse him once more before getting
him down for the night (yes, he's been sleeping through
the night EVERY night. Three days in a row, at least).
Ciao.
