The Frantically Desperate Desire

*****

For once, there isn't anything I need to be doing right
now. I mean I COULD wash the few dishes in the sink (and I
still might), but I don't have a category 3 tornado-sized
mess going on in there that requires my attention NOW. No
laundry to do, no projects to finish. Nothing. I'm free to
rest and relax, because even though I had a great day, I'm
really tired. For some reason, over the past few weeks I
seem to have forgotten that I'm VERY pregnant. The
frantically desperate desire to be done with this has been
replaced with a calm, collected knowledge that this WILL
be over soon. It's not weeks and weeks off in the
distance, it's a matter of days away. Even if I make it to
my due date or (heaven forbid) go beyond it. I can wait.

My garden looks cute :) It's going to need a few weeks to
grow in, but it's got promise now. I didn't go overboard
or anything. I bought a few quad-packs of Summer annuals
(purple Impatiens, pink and purple Petunias, pink
Snapdragons and yellow Dahlias), and a really beautiful
burgundy Calla Lilly I put by the front door. It's such a
rich color statement up against the boring beige of the
house's exterior. I pulled weeds, raked up leaves, sprayed
down the patio, pruned back my Hyacinth bulbs and hooked
up my spinning copper sprinkler. It looks so cool! I
noticed the wildflower seeds I planted over a month ago
are starting to sprout. The hard part was telling which
sprout was a wildflower and which was just a weed!
Wildflowers are technically weeds, so there's some room
for error :)

I put up the Pooh wall decorations in the nursery. They're
so very cute. There's a lot for Kiki and Keenan to look at
when they're in there. It's such a sweet room now. I think
Helena is planning on sleeping in there when she gets here
later this week. I hope she likes it, too. She's hard to
please sometimes, so if she doesn't like it, screw her! I
love my nursery. I put a vanilla air freshener in there
just because it's such a soothing scent, but the new
diaper pail I bought last week has made all the difference
in the world. It looks like a nursery, but thankfully it
doesn't smell like one anymore :) I had an expensive Dekor
diaper pail before, but somehow the critical part that
keeps the odor in got broken and it was no more useful
than an ordinary garbage can after that. So, I put it in
the cat room and am using it as such. That's what it's
purpose was when you were done using it as a diaper pail.
Now I've got a Diaper Genie II, which I love.

Okay. It's time for me to go rest. Maybe I'll be able to
get to sleep before 4am tonight? That would be great.
Lately I've been falling asleep between 3-4am and getting
up no later than 9:30am. Crazy enough, I feel tired, but
not as bad as you'd think I would. Anything over 5 hours
is a luxury to me. Ciao until tomorrow.
