I Woke With A Mission

****

As soon as I'm done writing, I'm taking my broke down,
sorry ass to bed. I may not sleep, but I'm most certainly
going to rest. I've been working all day and while I'm
very pleased with what I accomplished, I'm completely
wiped out. So much so, I almost can't walk.

I don't know what came over me this morning. I didn't get
any more sleep than I normally do. I fell asleep around
5am. I woke up about 8:15am. My usual time (to see Annie
off to school), but it was different this morning. Usually
I'll lay right back down once I know Annie is safely off
to school, but not today. I woke with a mission. I just
HAD to get the backyard done. It wasn't even a question
whether I'd finish or not. I knew I was getting it done
today. So, by 10am after fueling myself with a bowl of
Cheerios (with banana slices)and setting Kiki up in the
playroom, I headed to the back yard. 5 hours later and I
was done. Why did it take me so long. Well, since the
grass was too tall for the push mower to handle, I had to
get down on my hands and knees with a pair of grass shears
and hand-cut every inch of yard. Then I went over it with
the push mower to create uniformity. Once that was done, I
pulled up as many dandelions as I could and planted grass
seed in their place. I came out of that adventure with 3
S's. Sore, sunburned and stinky. It got over 80 degrees
today and the heat took it's toll on me.

I'd been having contractions the entire time I was
working, but I didn't think anything of it. That's
customary for me when I'm doing something physical. After
I was done with the yard work and in desperate need of a
shower, I went into the bathroom, took off my clothes and
saw the most horrid thing ever. Okay, so it's not that
bad, but it's still gross. I'd lost my mucus plug on my
pantiliner. I peed and wiped with toilet paper, but the
nasty snotness kept coming. I don't understand why parts
of pregnancy have to be so gross. Even with my mucus plug
gone, it could still be weeks before I go into labor. I'm
hoping. I want all of Keenan's stuff here and assembled
first.

Speaking of Keenan's stuff. The UPS guy came today and
delivered two boxes. One was Annie's birthday present from
Helena, the other was the tandem stroller I ordered! If I
could have chosen which item I would have preferred to get
first, it wouldn't have been the stroller. I want the
infant seat. I want to have that installed in the car
ASAP. I won't feel ready until AT least that item is in
place. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll come tomorrow.
Or Monday. I won't hold my breathe for a Saturday
delivery. I was going to put it together tonight, but why
bother? I don't need it at this moment and I've done
enough today. Tomorrow is another day, another
opportunity. The only thing I have left to do is organize
the nursery closet. Everything else (all the other
closets. That's all that's left) I've decided to wait
until after Keenan is born. Sometime when I'm ready to
pack away the maternity clothes. Then I'll do them. So,
putting the stroller together may be the only thing I do
tomorrow.

It's not even 10pm yet. This is very early for me (when
Snookums isn't home), but I desperately need to go lay
down. I'm hurting all over. My contractions (while very
irregular) are still coming and I'd rather not go into
labor tonight. Ciao until tomorrow!
