My Life Thus Far
Full Term!
I was up so late last night (or so early this morning,
depending on your perspective). I didn't fall asleep until
after 6am. The stupid birds were chirping so loud in the
tree outside my window! I don't usually mind the birds. I
even like them (in the middle of the afternoon), but when
you're struggling for ANY sleep you can get, hearing a
bunch of happy creatures chirp away makes you want to puke
or punch a kitten in the face. Both of which are viable
options for me, but neither are something I really want to
do. For the 3 people who are thinking "I should send her a
message telling her to shut the window", I did! That
didn't help. Had I already been asleep, bird chirping
wouldn't have bothered me.
The plus side to staying up all night is that I get stuff
done. While I may not lift a finger towards anything
productive during the day, I'm bionic woman come
nightfall. I sterilized and reassembled my breast pump,
finished my laundry, packed my hospital bag, packed
Keenan's diaper bag, folded and put away all of Keenan's
newborn and 0-3 month sized clothes and updated my
myspace. I forced myself to lay down at 5am when the sun
started coming up.
I'm exactly 37 weeks today! I'm considered full term and
the baby can come at any point. I know he isn't coming
right now, but at least the worry of prematurity is gone
and it's officially okay for labor to start. I've got two
appointments today. Antepartum testing and then my 37 week
check-up. I'll have my first cervical exam today. I don't
want to do it, but it's always interesting to find out if
you're dilated any.
I'd better go get ready or I'll end up running late. I'm
so tired.
