My Life Thus Far
Astrologically Unlikely To Happen
*****
I have earned the right to be tired. I'm so pleased with
all I accomplished today. I didn't get a whole lot checked
off my list. I did BIG things that took time, but made a
huge impact on the way the place looks. For example, there
are NO boxes in my living room. 8 months after moving in,
we still had three boxes chilling in the living room. Two
of them were basically empty, one had my office supplies
in it. I took care of those, organized my desk, got rid of
the clutter, decorated it. I hung ALL of the pictures that
needed to be hung. Upstairs, downstairs, in my room. DONE.
There are 5 items still left on this week's list. 4 of
them I'm not scared of. They're little things like wipe
down the walls, vacuum, dust, straighten my room. The big
one is the backyard. I attempted to cut the grass back
there last weekend and it nearly killed me. I'm going out
there tomorrow with grass clippers and a push mower. I
feel like David in the David and Goliath equation. I'd
kill for a gas powered mower and a weed eater just for
tomorrow. Then, I'll go back to my earth-friendly, zen
form of yard maintenance. Once the beast has been tamed.
When I took care of my mother's yard/garden, I loved using
the push mower. I hate the sound of the gas engine. I
don't like the smell, either and electric mowers have
cords that get in the way. I'll just have to suck it up
and battle my way through it!
After last night, I was kind of expecting to be plagued by
contractions all day, but surprisingly enough I was okay.
I had a few this morning and a few here and there when I
got to working too hard, but not rhythmic ones like I'd
had last night. Earlier in the afternoon, I had a little
spotting on the tissue when I peed, but at this point
that's normal for me. In a few days I'll be full term and
the baby can come when it please! Preferably later rather
than sooner. I want to give Snookums a chance to come
home, if they're going to let him come home. That's still
very much up in the air. So much so, I'm considering it to
be astrologically unlikely to happen.
I'm so ready for sleep now. At least I accomplished
something tangible today. When I get up in the morning and
walk out of my bedroom, I'll be greeted by a finished
home. No more looking like we just moved in! My goal is to
finish off my Housekeeping Wish List and to work on some
of the other little projects I want to tackle. I also need
to get my hospital bag packed and the baby clothes washed
and put away. Already, I've packed too much into tomorrow!
I can feel another list coming on...Ciao.
