My Life Thus Far

Compelling Evidence

****

I'm bored and not tired. Snookums tried to make me go to
sleep, but that wasn't happening. I snuck out of the
bedroom as soon as he started snoring. He shouldn't miss
me until it's time for his midnight tinkle :) I'll be back
before then. The couch is too squishy for me to fall
asleep on anymore. I don't even bother sitting on it
anymore. I use the computer chair. I can't get off the
couch without help, which would be really bad if I had to
go pee or if he left me there and went to work in the
morning. I'll sneak back in and read once I'm done here.

Today was a little on the boring side, but not so much
that it made me want to leave the house. I'm perfectly
content being at home, especially right now with it being
so hard to get around. What's there for me to do? Shop?
I'm all shopped out. Until after the baby shower, I don't
even want to buy baby stuff. It can wait. I was bored
mainly because Snookums got home from work early today,
but spent more time on the computer than with me. I posted
myself up in the bedroom and watched TLC. I got to see a
million episodes of 10 Years Younger and What Not To Wear,
plus my usual Baby Story and Bringing Home Baby. An added
bonus was A Wedding Story. I haven't seen that show in
years. I had a funny reaction to A Wedding Story. I watch
A Baby Story every day and I NEVER get emotional about the
babies being born. I view it almost like an educational
movie. In a very clinical manner, but while I was watching
A Wedding Story, I ALMOST cried. I didn't, but I came
close. That surprised me. Maybe it's because of the whole
till death do us part thing. At some point kids leave your
house, right? "Till death due us part" is scarier
than "until the age of majority" :) I'm kidding. I don't
know why I got emotional, but I got over it quickly
enough. I enjoyed my TLC marathon for about the first 5
hours, then I wanted Snookums to come spend time with me.

Being in bed most of the day (okay, all of the day) gave
me a wonderful opportunity to feel what the baby was up
to. He was alert a good part of the day and still is now.
I think he might have turned himself over! I won't get my
hopes up (because that would leave room for them to be
dashed if he hasn't), but I've got compelling evidence
that he has. Today while I was in my millionth episode of
10 Years Younger, he got the hiccups. He's been getting
the hiccups at least twice a day for the past few weeks,
that wasn't the unusual part. Instead, it was the location
of the hiccups. For the most part, I feel them on the
upper left side of my belly, but today I felt them on the
lower right side. That can only mean he's done a 180
degree turn (in my mind). My other evidence was small body
part movement. I usually feel feet and hands move on the
right side of my belly, but now I'm feeling little parts
on the left side. I think he might have finally migrated.
Only the ultrasound can say for sure, but his movements
definitely feel different. Now if only he'd stay head down
(if indeed he has gone head down).

Snookums has duty tomorrow. What a waste of a good
Saturday. Not that we ever do much on weekends. I'm going
to try to surprise him and get the laundry done. I don't
like the way he does laundry and I know he hates doing it,
so really I'd rather do it anyway. Not that I don't
greatly appreciate his help. I most certainly do. I'm just
really tired of grey socks (that should be white) and
never being able to find my clothes in the closet. Stairs
are agony on my pelvis at times, but after my day of rest
today, I should be fine. I just wish the laundry room
wasn't so far away. Down the stairs, around the corner. It
feels like a nature walk, over the hills and through the
woods just to wash some clothes. I think a laundromat
across town would be easier for me to do laundry in than
the $2,000 baby blue matching set down in my laundry room.
I could do all loads at one time and wouldn't have to walk
as far! Man, I miss my little condo. Three feet in any
direction and you were in another room. With it's 15 year
old stacking washer and dryer you had to run the water
through first because the rusty pipes might turn your
whites copper and the dryer that took 3 cycles to dry one
load. Those were the good old days....

Okay. I'm ready to head off to bed now. Ciao.
