1000 Entries!

****

I would have had a good day if it weren't for this damn
heartburn. It seems like all I've been doing today is
trying to find relief. Zantac isn't doing anything. I've
tried all the recommendations (except for one, which
Snookums is out getting for me now), yet I'm still
suffering. At the end of every article on pregnancy
related heartburn I've read, it always says the same
thing, "the only complete relief comes with delivery". No
shit. Like, I needed an article to tell me that. I've got
8 weeks until delivery. What can I do until then? Sit
around and accept the pain of my esophagus being eaten
away by acid? I can tolerate a lot of pain, but hours and
days on end is ridiculous. Snookums is out getting me a
papaya. The enzymes are supposed to help neutralize
stomach acid. I'll try anything once.

Kiki did really well in therapy today. She's still having
trouble with separation anxiety, but once she gets over me
leaving her, she's fine. She's talking to her teachers and
the other kids. I'm so proud of her. I remember when she
wouldn't say a word. Not even to me. So much has changed
in the past year. I think she'll be completely caught up
by kindergarten.

Gen and I did our usual coffee thing. We had to cut it a
little short, because Gen had to leave, which was fine. I
was suffering anyway, so I was glad to get home.
Heartburn. It's taking what little fun I have in my life
right now and ruining it! Okay, that's a little dramatic,
but really. It's not pleasant.

Kiki and I had just settled down for our naps when
Snookums came home. He let me close myself in the bedroom
while he stayed out in the living room with Kiki. Usually
I wait until Kiki is completely out before I go to sleep,
but Snookie gave her a snack and watched cartoons with her
so I could rest. On top of the heartburn, I've got this
headache that keeps coming back. I've got it now, too.
Sleep helps the headache. So, I know fatigue has a lot to
do with it.

I woke up in time to catch A Baby Story! I was so pleased,
because one of the two episodes was a natural birth! A
hypnobirth complete with NO medical interventions, NO
medication, nothing but the mother doing her thing.
Complete with a water birth set up (if she wanted it, but
she ended up not wanting it), a birthing stool (which she
ended up using) and a squat bar. Which, I wish I could
use. It allows gravity to help the baby descend. She gave
birth sitting on the birthing stool, holding on to the
squat bar (which is mounted to the bed). Oddly enough, it
mimicked the position I was in when I had Annie. I'll see
if I can get that at Naval Hospital. Probably not. It
isn't the standard flat on your back birth they make
everyone have. I can't do that with my pelvic condition.
I'll wait until they all leave the room, then I'll lock
them out and do it myself. Sounds like a plan :)

The rest of the evening was predictable. I made spaghetti
for dinner. The girls ate and went to bed. Snookie and I
have been relaxing in the living room, but I think we'll
head back to the bedroom now. I'm going to try out the
papaya treatment and see how it works. Ciao for now.

P.S. Congratulations to me, I've hit 1000 entries! It's
hard to believe I've been writing this long...
