My Life Thus Far

In A Lull

****

Well, things seem to be up and running smoothly again here
on my-diary.org. I hope. I don't want to jinx myself! I've
saved a new copy of my entire diary to my hard drive, but
if this entry goes missing, I'm going to scream! I'm tired
of recapping the last couple days only for the entry to
get deleted, so you'll just have to miss out on the last
couple days of my life if you didn't get to read the
phantom entries that disappeared. It's not like anything
terribly interesting is happening at the moment. My life
is in a lull.

The terrible sciatica that's been plaguing me the past
couple of days has finally let up some. I've been able to
walk around and move without too much discomfort, which
makes me very happy. It only took 3 days of bed rest, but
I think I'm back in action now! I hate that the only
solution my doctor can give me for the sciatica is bed
rest. I'd prefer a method a little more proactive, but I
take what's given to me. I try to be active, but more
often than not that's what causes it to flair up to begin
with. Not to mention the pelvic dysfunction on top of it.
I'm such a mess. Less than 2 months to go. There IS a
light at the end of the tunnel, after all!

I have nothing to share as far as today goes. I tried
doing a little potty training with Kiki, but I don't think
she's mentally prepared quite yet. Physically she's ready.
She goes 2-3 hours between wet diapers, doesn't pee during
naps and her poop is FINALLY solid (most of the time).
Sorry if that was TMI. But, she can't seem to get the
timing right. She's either way too early getting to the
potty or just misses the cue and goes on herself. After 5
pairs of panties (4 wet, 1 poopy), we both started getting
frustrated and had to give up for the day. I'm pretty much
resigned to letting her stay in diapers as long as she
wants. She doesn't use that many of them (maybe 3 a day)
and eventually she'll realize she's getting too big to
wear them. She's starting to be embarrassed by being wet
or stinky, so that might be the motivation she needs.
Annie was just so simple. She potty trained herself at 27
months, because she wanted to join a preschool that only
accepted potty trained kids. I explained that to her and
she understood. I didn't have to do anything but make sure
she had access to the bathroom or her potty chair. She's
never had an accident - day or night. She's my fiercely
independent child. Kiki I think will have to be pushed out
of the nest at some point.

I'm cold. I'm not sure why, but I am. So, I think I'll go
take my bath now. I've got a new book all lined up, ready
to be started. I hopefully will get some good sleep
tonight. I've got to get up at the butt crack of dawn to
take Kiki to therapy. She's coming down to her last few
sessions. A chapter of her life is ending. I think she's
ready for it, though. She talks up a storm now. At least,
to those she knows. Ciao until tomorrow.
