I Believe Things When I See Them

***

I'd have to say as far as days go, today wasn't too bad. I
mean, I've had way worse. As usual, getting out of bed was
hard and I really wanted to NOT take Kiki to therapy, but
it means too much to her for me to treat it so lightly.
I'm hoping when she transitions to the school district,
they've got a class later in the morning or early
afternoon. That would be great.

Once Kiki was done with therapy, we headed into Silverdale
so I could pick up the girls' Easter outfits (and have
coffee with Gen). I just went to Target, because I like
their clothes and it was easy. I ended up getting them
matching plaid sheath dresses in Springy pastel colors.
Little white tennis shoes with ruffled socks and matching
Hello Kitty rain slickers. I'm not a religious person (if
you didn't already know that), so we don't go to church on
Easter, unless we're invited and I'm incapable of sticking
up for myself enough to say no. So, I forgo the foo-foo
frilly dresses for something they can wear again. Saturday
is the Easter egg hunt at Holly Ridge (Kiki's therapy
center) and I'll take them to that. We went last year and
they had a good time. Afterwards I'll take them to the
mall to have their picture taken with the Easter bunny and
that'll be it. Hopefully Snookums will be able to come,
but that's still up in the air. I'm thinking he won't be
able to.

Gen and I did our usual Starbucks thing today, but we also
went to lunch at Red Robin. We'll do that once in awhile.
Snookums actually got off work early and met us there. He
said he'd be getting off early, but I didn't believe him.
These days I believe things when I see them. After lunch,
we came home and the three of us (me, Snookums and Kiki)
took a nap until Annie came home from school a little
after 4pm. It wasn't a long nap, but it was enough to help
give me a little extra energy for work. Kiki and Snookums
were still asleep when I left at 4:45pm. Sleepy-heads. I
find it astonishing that Snookums went to sleep soon after
I came home from work, even though he took a nap this
afternoon. I'm still up and it's almost 1am and I didn't
get much of a nap. But, whatever. I suppose he works
harder than I do, although I wouldn't call being pregnant
a cakewalk at this point.

I think at some point I'm going to have to talk with my
doctor about the shortness of breath thing. I nearly had
the people at work scared out of their minds. They were
offering me water, a stool to sit on, anxiety medication
(don't ask). I was so out of breath when I got there. They
almost sent me home. But, I was there and ready to work,
so there was no way I was going for that. Other than
having issues catching my breath, I was in a good mood and
wanted to be at work.

Hours are all messed up at work. We've got way more hours
than people scheduled, so shifts are being plugged in left
and right. There were a bunch of us working tonight and
not a whole lot going on in the mall. So, we goofed off.
It was fun :) It's one of the main reasons I don't want to
quit my job, even though it does me little good at this
point. I love the atmosphere (most of the time) and I've
come to (dare I say it?) like the girls I work with. The
ones that stay longer than a week, that is. I may bitch
and moan when it comes time to leave for work, but when I
come home, I'm always glad I went. I still like my job :)

I need to go to bed now. In 8 hours, I'm supposed to be
dropping Zoe off at the vet. She's getting tested for
every animal yucky under the sun. I don't do parasites.
Already I'm set up for a bad morning. I don't have much
time to attempt sleep. I tried to fall asleep when
Snookums did, at 10:30pm, but that didn't happen. Hence
the 1am entry. Let me go try again...Ciao.
