My Life Thus Far
My Body Thinks It Wants More
It seriously feels like someone snapped their fingers and
the night was over. After I wrote last night, I didn't go
to bed like I'd planned. I was tired, but my desire to
finish getting the curtains hung won out. That didn't
require banging on the walls like hanging pictures, so I
figured my neighbors wouldn't mind. Screw-driving doesn't
make much noise. Not that I really care what my neighbors
think. I just don't want them to think it's okay to make
noise that might bother me. You know, what goes around
comes around. So, I didn't finally go to bed until a
little after 1:30am. I closed my eyes, went to sleep, then
Annie came in 5 seconds later and woke me up at 8am.
Another night of 6 hours of sleep. Only, my body thinks it
wants more. In fact, it knows it wants more.
Yesterday I brought a couple of my hyacinth blooms into
the house. They'd gotten top-heavy in the garden and were
flopping over, so I cut them and put them in glasses of
water. I put one on my nightstand and the other on the
dining room table and this morning when I woke up, all I
could smell was the deep, sweet, rich smell of SPRING!
Until Kiki came in with a poopy diaper and brought me back
down to Earth :) It was wonderful, though. I think it's
really going to have a positive affect on my mood today.
Today, my goal is to finish hanging the rest of the
pictures, clean up the little mess I made hanging curtains
(packaging and curtain rod boxes) and do a little light
cleaning. I want to do the dishes and wipe down some
walls. Kiki leaves messes in her wake like a mini
hurricane. This morning she'd dumped the entire container
of fish food on the kitchen floor. I suppose I'll take
that over leaving to catch the bus like she did yesterday.
I need to go to the grocery store. Of course my Commissary
is closed today. If I want groceries I'll have to go to
Bangor, which isn't such a big deal, I guess. I'm just
more familiar with the layout at Bremerton. Why am I even
writing about this?
Good news about Courtney! This morning she's back to her
old self! Her fins are open, most of the cysts are gone
and she's got a healthy appetite. I think maybe today I'll
do a deep cleaning on her aquarium and put her back in
there with her stuff. Only with the 0.3% salt water
solution. I'm sure she's bored in the empty Tupperware
pitcher. Once the little protozoa detach from her body and
become free-floating in the water, they can't tolerate the
salt, so I'll do that. I think she's going to make it! I
am Jennifer, fish-healer!
On top of all the things I need to get done today, I have
to work tonight, too. I'll have to meter out my energy, so
there will be something left at that point. What a long
day. I can't promise I'll write tonight, but I'll try.
Ciao.
