A Park, A Museum And Dinner

****

I'm writing early tonight, because I'm hoping I'll go to
bed early. Of course since I wrote that, I'll jinx myself
and I'll be up until 4am. Shame on me, I should be more
optimistic.

I actually had a good day. I got decent sleep last night
thanks to the Zantac, but it wore off around 4am, so I had
to take another dose. So, I wasn't really ready to get up
this morning. Annie took the bus to school, because her
early morning class was cancelled, Snookums didn't go to
work today, so he slept in with me until it was time for
him to judge the science projects at West Hills Elementary
(not Annie's school, conflict of interest) and Kiki roamed
the house until Gen came and dragged me out of bed about
10:30am. We did our usual coffee thing, then parted ways
when Snookums was done with his science fair thing.

Annie had early release today, so we had a good chunk of
time before she had to be back at school (for the science
fair). We decided to take them to the Harborside Fountain
Park, because it was such a nice day and they haven't been
there before. Really, the only thing the park has going
for it is the fountains. Which, weren't much fun in the
middle of Winter, but I'll definitely take the girls back
this summer. They're shallow fountains and you're allowed
to play in them. Right next to the fountain park is the
Puget Sound Naval Museum. Admission is free and we just so
happened to be there when it was open (it's volunteer
run), so we decided to take a look. It's pretty
interesting. There's lots of pictures of what the area
looked like before the shipyard was built (back in the mid
1800's) and there's a section of the museum dedicated to
all of the ships that have been stationed here. Snookums
and the girls were most interested in the Stennis section.
I liked the historic area that had the old steam engines
and telegraph machine. It was fun. I'm glad we went. I'm
going to be sore from the walking, but I plan on taking a
bath later (with my Dead Sea salts) to counteract the
soreness.

We had dinner at Taco Del Mar, which was pretty good. I
haven't eaten there before. The rice and beans are to die
for. So, for a grand total of $22.46 we had a great day as
a family. A park, a museum and dinner. I feel better when
I do something, than when I spend the entire day couped up
in the house. My heartburn is creeping up on me, so I
think I'll go take a Zantac before my bath.

Snookie and Annie are back, so I guess I'll go. Ciao.
