More Than Shows Of Romance

****

Happy Valentine's Day to all who give a shit. I don't
really, but I'm not anti-Valentine's Day, either. I've
never had a bad experience on this particular holiday. I
was never dumped, or without a man (unless that was how I
wanted to be). I just have never really gotten into it. To
me, it's the day Annie comes home from school with lots of
little scraps of paper (Valentines) and candy. Snookums
bought me chocolate and cream soda. He gave me one of the
left over cards from Annie's Valentine exchange (a cat
with sunglasses and a boa on) and that was plenty for me.
No lingerie or perfume, flowers or expensive dinners. I
feel we're beyond that. Our marriage is built on more than
shows of romance. When he cleans the bathroom for me, so I
don't have to get down on my hands and knees to do it,
that's romantic. Dishes are romantic. Laundry is down
right orgasmic.

Snookums didn't have to work today. His commanding officer
took pity on poor Kiki and let Jason stay home with her.
As I've mention before, Snookums is a pro at milking his
children's illnesses for all their worth. It's a skill.
So, we (the 3 of us) spent the day in bed. Kiki is still
not 100%. She didn't cry as much today and she is talking
again, but the fever creeps up if a dose of Tylenol or
Motrin is missed. I'm optimistic she'll be even better
tomorrow. She's on Zythromyacin because she's allergic to
Penicillin and she's only got to be on it for 4 days as
opposed to Annie's 10 days on Amoxicillin. So, tomorrow is
her last day of antibiotics. Then, my children will be
healed!

Work was good tonight. I got to help the clueless, last
minute shopping men spend loads of money on lingerie
that's going to end up on the floor (if they're lucky),
then in the back of a drawer. It's so rewarding :) I don't
work again until next Thursday, which is pretty cool and
kind of sad at the same time. That means I'll have to find
other things to fill my days. I'm tired of spending all
day in bed, but I get worn out really easily, too. It's a
delicate balancing act. Tomorrow, I'm going to try to get
Kiki out of the house. She hasn't gotten out since some
time last week. Friday. So, yeah. We're getting out
tomorrow. She hasn't been to therapy because she's sick. I
guess the Emergency Room counts as getting out of the
house, but that isn't what I meant.

I'm actually tired. It's a little before 10pm and I think
I might be able to fall asleep! I think I'll try to do
that. Ciao until tomorrow.
