This Is So Not Fun

***

After writing this morning, I went back to bed. Snookie
was snuggled down deep in the bed, making it all warm and
cozy and it wasn't too long until I fell asleep nestled
next to him. Of course I had my huge body pillow propping
up my legs, so my pelvis would stay level. It helps a
little, until I forget and try to roll over. Then I'm
hurting.

Snookums got up sometime around 9:30am and went to tend to
the children and I slept a little longer, until I had to
go to the bathroom. I rolled over to get up and the pain
was just so intense, I knew I had to do something about
it. So, I called Naval Hospital's ask-a-nurse number. They
transferred me to Labor and Delivery (because I'm over 20
weeks). The nurse on call asked that I come in to be
evaluated and Gen and Sam were nice enough to come and
watch the girls for us, so Snookie could come with me.
Turns out it's exactly what I thought it was and there
isn't a whole lot they can do. They prescribed me a muscle
relaxer to tide me over until my appointment on Wednesday,
then I'm supposed to get a referral from my primary care
provider for physical therapy. The doctor advised that I
cut my work schedule and get as much rest as I can. I
don't know how well that will work, I am a mom after all,
but as long as Snookums is around, I'm sure he'll see to
it I get some rest. I'm just relieved that they didn't
tell me it's all in my head. I knew I wasn't crazy. Now, I
just need to get the pain under control. The doctor
suggested swimming and prenatal yoga, too. Which I thought
was apropo, because I've been wanting to do both since I
started feeling better. Now I have a damn good reason.
Pain management.

I think I'll go take my meds now and try to rest. I've
been sitting in Snookums recliner since we got home, which
felt okay at the time, but when I stood up, I was stiff
and sore. This is so not fun. I'm still happy, though :)
See, I smiled. Ciao.
