HAPPY 900TH ENTRY TO ME!

****

HAPPY 900TH ENTRY TO ME! It's hard to believe I've
actually been writing in this diary all this time. Since
August of 2005 and here it is, 2008. Time sure is flying
by. So much has changed, yet everything is still the same.

Today was a slightly skewed day. It was similar to how it
always is, but different. I went to work, but got off
early (3:30pm, instead of 5:30pm), I picked the girls up
from daycare, brought them home and commenced to move
through the steps of the evening ritual with them. Just as
I was about to usher them off to bed, I heard the screen
door open, then the front door. I instantly knew it was
Snookums, but I wasn't expecting him, because he has duty
tonight. So, that was weird. Turns out, he was given
liberty from duty so he could go to class, but his class
got cancelled, so instead of going back to the ship (like
he probably should have), he decided to come home until he
has to stand watch. He's playing with fire, if you ask me,
but it's not my ass on the grill if he gets caught. He
wouldn't get in any real trouble, but it wouldn't look
good for him, either. I'm surprised at the risk he's
taking to see his family. Normally, Snookums is a very
straight-laced kind of guy. He very much shies away from
danger.

Anyhow, I made him a steak for dinner, we made love, took
a shower together and fell asleep around 8:30pm. He's
still sleeping, but 8:30pm is too early to go to bed for
me, so my body thinks I just took a nap. I don't know when
I'll be able to fall back to sleep. Snookums is getting up
at 2am, so he can get back to the ship in time for his
watch. A cancelled class can be a nice thing. Although,
I'm already seeing one improvement of him going back to
school. I'm seeing a kinder, more gentler Snookums. He's
more relaxed and open. Less uptight and mean. If all it
was going to take were a few entry-level college courses
to make him feel better about himself and his life, then
he should have done this years ago.

I have a busy day on my plate today (it is after midnight,
so the day has technically begun). Annie has her class she
needs to be to at 7:30am, Kiki has therapy at 8:30am, then
I need to stop by Annie's school and put money on her
lunch account, pick Kiki up from therapy at 10:30am, then
drop her off at daycare, go grocery shopping, pick Annie
up from school and take her to her dentist's appointment
in Poulsbo at 2:30pm, pick Kiki up from daycare (she's
scared of the dentist, so we don't take her there if we
don't have to. Even if we're not there for her, she still
freaks), then I get to come home. It's not too stressful,
just a lot of running around. At some point in there I
need to put gas in the car, or none of it will be
possible. Oh, I also need to make my 16-20 week check-up,
because I'll be 20 weeks on Thursday and I still haven't
done that. If one more person asks me if I've found out
what I'm having YET (like they just absolutely HAVE to
know) I'm going to slap them. I'm not even as eager to
know as half the chicks I work with. I almost think going
to work would be an easier day, though. So much less to do.

I should try to go back to sleep. It's just about 1am and
I have to be up in about 5 hours. Ironically enough,
earlier than if I were going to work. Since Snookums won't
be home to take Annie to school, I have to pick up the
slack. Ciao for now.
