My Life Thus Far
Vinegar Hill
***
I never work on weekend, but of course the one I volunteer
to take (because we have some on-boarding to do-new
associates) it's bright and sunny and I don't want to go.
Snookums is getting the girls dressed so he can take them
to the park, but I have to go to work. I want to go to the
park! I suppose there's no sense in pouting about it. How
was I supposed to know today would be one of our fleeting
days (or hours) of sunshine. When I come out of work, it
will be pitch black and cold. Just my luck, snowing or
raining, too. I enjoy work when I'm there. It's like being
in a vacuum. Nothing else in the world is relevant inside
those pink walls. Time passes relatively quickly and it's
like a second home to me, I'm there so much.
I finished the book I was reading last night. Vinegar
Hill. It was a good book from start to finish. I wasn't
ready for it to be over. I thought there was still a lot
more the author could have elaborated on in the ending. I
identified with the protagonist in so many ways. Her
marriage was failing, her children were growing distant,
and her in-laws were meddling. Wow. Sounds really
familiar. I still have 3 Value Village books left to read.
I'm not sure which one I'll read next.
I'd better go. I have to be to work in 45 minutes and I'm
not dressed yet. I don't want to be late. Ciao.
