My Life Thus Far

Most People's Standards

****

I can't believe how tired I am. I've got a little headache
because of it, but other than that, I'm feeling pretty
good. I had a good day. Despite having a long (trying) day
at work.

We got up really early this morning. 5:45am, so we could
shower (because we kind of had a midnight tryst and really
needed to) and get the girls ready to go. Dan and Helena
wanted to take us out to breakfast before I went to work.
I had to be to work at 9am, so that meant an early
breakfast. Not by most people's standards, but by mine it
was a little too early. Once in awhile is fine, but I
couldn't get up early like that all the time. It reminds
me too much of when I worked at Ross and had to be to work
at 4am. That sucked.

During breakfast, Jason's parents filled us in on the plan
they have for us in the Spring. In May, before the baby is
born, they're going to give us one of their vehicles.
Helena is coming to stay with me because Jason is going to
be out to sea. So, she's driving it down from Michigan.
They have 4 vehicles, 2 of which don't really get used and
since our family is growing, they thought we could use
something other than Jason's little pick-up truck. So
we're getting their 2006 Toyota Rav-4. Free and clear. No
payments. It's a gift. There really is something to be
said about having rich in-laws. I can at least have a
clear conscience because I know that isn't why I married
him. I didn't know the extent of their wealth until the
day before our wedding :)

Work was a fiasco. It started out okay, but after I got
back from my lunch break, all hell broke lose. Our system
went down so we could run debit cards, credit cards,
checks, gift cards. Nothing. It was like being back in the
dark ages. We had to do everything by hand, which meant a
lot of phone authorizations and plenty of paperwork. My
last 3 hours flew by. I won't lie, I had a bit of a
headache when I left, but my spirits were still high,
because I knew I was going to get a good dinner.

Dan and Helena were here when I got home. We left for
Poulsbo pretty soon after after that. Instead of JJ's, we
went to the Bayside Broiler. We haven't been there before
and I don't think we'll go back again any time soon. It
was nice, but pricey. I don't even want to know how much
it cost. My cedar plank salmon was $23.00 alone. Yikes.

I'm so ready for bed. We're doing breakfast again tomorrow
before I go to work. Thankfully, we aren't getting up
until 8am. Two extra hours of sleep sound good to me. Ciao.
