My Life Thus Far
Warmly Ensconced
****
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard
it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and
rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found
written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your
teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed
down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that
anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good
and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to
it.

I may not have the discipline or desire to follow any one
religion, but I have to say I really like Buddha. He has
some really good advice. Unlike God who speaks in circles
and won't let you do things that feel good. Christians, go
ahead and fill my inbox with hate mail! I'm just hormonal
enough to take it personally!
I had a good day today, but it really wore me out. Last
night I couldn't for the life of me get to sleep I tossed
and turned in bed, long after Snookums fell asleep. My
legs wouldn't stop wanting to move! All I wanted to do was
get up and walk, run, dance, do something to get moving. I
ended up getting out of bed around 11pm and sorting the
devastation that is the laundry until sometime after 2 am
(yes, there is that much to do. I haven't done laundry
since August, pretty much). I laid down on the couch when
I was done and managed to fall asleep around 3am. Snookums
came and brought me to bed soon after that.
I had to be up by 7am to make it to the management meeting
this morning. I thought I was going to die. Morning
sickness was getting the best of me, I was tired and all I
really wanted to do was move closer to Snookums and
snuggle deeper into the warmth of his side. But, I didn't.
Snookums got up and helped me get ready, so I wouldn't
feel sad about having to get up while he stayed warmly
ensconced in our cushy bed.
The meeting went well. Basically, what's happening is Leah
and I will be responsible for training the seasonal hires.
I'll be training them on registers and Leah will be
training them in the bra wardrobing center. Each new hire
receives 100 minutes of training from the both of us. We
could be training as many as 35 girls. I'm not daunted by
it, though. I see it as an opportunity to shine. Not that
I haven't already.
After the meeting, I ran a few errands, did a little
shopping. I also stopped by Aaron's to schedule the
delivery of our new washer and dryer. The one they gave us
while we waited for the one we really wanted is a piece of
shit. It takes 3 or 4 full hour long cycles just to get
one little load dry. I'm not talking about big loads,
either. Small loads. 1 pair of pants, a few pairs of
underwear, some socks. Nothing major. Tomorrow between
11am-2pm I'll be getting my baby blue Frigidaire Infinity
front load washer and dryer. Frigidaire reminds me of
refrigerators and Maytag (the washer/dryer we have not)
evoke feelings of trustworthiness and the epitome of
quality , but this one is disappointing me. I'll take the
fridge company's set any day. Our washer and dryer in our
condo was Frigidaire and I really couldn't complain about
it. It was a 10 year old stackable unit that never gave me
a day's trouble. The Frigidaire is digital, too. It has
sanitize setting and all sorts of other bells and whistles.
I got home from doing all that around 11am. I made a
valiant effort at doing laundry, but I eventually got
pissed off and gave up. It can wait until tomorrow. I
moved on to the task of hanging pictures, which I also
gave up on. I did a few, but I was (and still am) just too
tired to put forth the effort.
Gen called around 1pm and asked if I wanted to do coffee.
I did. I seems like it's been forever since we've had
coffee, so I was grateful for a reason to leave my
domestic work. We had dinner at Applebee's too. Good
times.
Annie got home from her trip to Oregon about an hour ago.
She's already in bed, passed out. I'm sure she hasn't
gotten much sleep this weekend. Her school called Jason
today wondering where she was at. I appreciate their
concern, but I don't think 3rd graders do much cutting. I
didn't start skipping school until the 10th grade for
goodness sake! Whatever. I'll send a note with her
tomorrow. If they have a problem, they can deal with my
bitch ass. Hopefully first thing in the morning when the
hormones are the strongest :)
I need to go to bed now. I'm going to see if Snookums will
give me a massage before we go to bed. I can feel the
fidgetiness coming on and hopefully if he's willing to
massage the tension out, I might be able to sleep. We'll
see. Ciao.
