My Prince Charming

****

Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow;
it only saps today of its strength.

A.J. Cronin

Snookums has been my prince charming. He's taken care of
the girls, done mountains of laundry, dishes. You name it.
It's almost like he's enjoying it. More power to him. I
don't. I may be a goddess, but not the domestic variety!

Today was yet another day of rest and relaxation. For me.
I can't believe how much I've been sleeping lately. I
think I'm making up for all the long nights I had when he
was out to sea. I'm loving it.

We managed to make Helena upset from 2,500 miles away. She
made us reservations at a Courtyard Marriot in Seattle the
night Snookums flight came in. But, my period had started
and Snookums just wanted to come home, so we didn't even
go to the hotel. Turns out, she'd spent $350 on a room
upgrade (without telling me), left $300 in cash in a card
on the dresser and decorated the room with roses and
candles. Very sweet indeed. But, I gave Snookums the final
word as to whether or not we went and he said no. So, we
didn't. Who knows what happened to all the stuff in the
room. I'm sure some maid had a lovely tip the next day.
Helena is probably livid with us, but we didn't know!
She'll probably never do anything like that again.
Honestly, I think it's creepy that she gets us hotel rooms
and buys me lingerie. It's like all she cares about is
getting me pregnant. Like I'm a grandbaby factory.

That's all there is to talk about for today. My days
aren't going to be too interesting for the next week. I've
taken the week off and Snookums is on leave, so it's going
to be a lot of days at home. Annie also starts school next
week, so we'll be slipping back into the usual schedule.
I'm kind of welcoming it. Structure is nice. That and
it'll be nice to not pay over $200 for Annie's daycare. I
like $82 a little better. Ciao until tomorrow.
