My Life Thus Far
Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy?
****
In the midst of winter, I finally learned that there was
in me an invincible summer.

I've been slacking. It's unlike me, I know, to go so many
days without writing, without a good reason. The best
reason I can give is a combination of busyness and more
interesting things to do. Not to mention lack of sleep
from perpetual late nights and early mornings.
Friday ended up being a nice day. I got off of work a
couple hours early and took a little field trip to Tacoma.
Visited a friend (I fully intend to remain vague) and then
came back to Kitsap County to pick up the girls and head
home as usual. Sometimes I wish I could go in depth as to
all I get into, but alas. I do have a small need for
privacy in me. Shocking, I know. Of course, Friday night I
went out. It was so much fun! It was dad and I, then Misty
and Ron. It was great hanging out together. Dad and Misty
have a small crush on each other, so it's entertaining
seeing them together. I felt a strong need to introduce
them right from the get-go. Now I'm glad I did, because
they really hit it off.
Saturday was much like other Saturdays. I recovered from
Friday night's indulgences and spent time with the girls.
I love sitting on the couch and watching them play on the
rug in front of me. I seem cold and callus most of the
time, but I've got a soft spot in my hear for my babies.
Dad decided (not me) that we were going back down to
Mako's Saturday night, too. Selena called to see if I
needed her and I left it up to dad. He said yes, so we
went back. Last night wasn't nearly as much fun. It wasn't
as busy and they kept messing with the music. Mako's is a
hip-hop club, but on occasion they'd throw in a rock and
roll song or some country. Save a horse, ride a cowboy?
Whatever. Not in my universe. Anyhow, I went to an early
breakfast and ended up staying over at a friend's house
last night, and coming home late this morning. Dad stayed
with the girls, which was really nice of him. I never get
to do totally spontaneous, irresponsible things now that
I'm a mother!
Misty brought her kids, her boyfriend Chris and her
brothers over today, so we could meet up and head down to
the Port Orchard annual "Cruz 2007". It's the classic car
show they always have each summer. I've lived here for
several summers, but I'd never been to one before. Misty
suggested it and I wanted to do something with dad other
than just clubbing, so I agreed. Even though I'd only
gotten 3 hours of very uncomfortable sleep last night. We
ended up with 9 children in tow. One in a stroller though,
so we didn't count her. There were 6 of us adults, so it
wasn't too hard to keep an eye on them. We were all
diligent. The kids got their faces painted and us adults
got to see the cool cars. I also got to have some lumpia.
Something I haven't had in awhile, but will always have a
soft spot in my heart for :)
Annie is so happy. Misty has an 8 year old daughter named
Ciera and her and Annie get along like Siamese twins.
Almost as soon as they met, they hit it off immediately.
Ciera is spending the night with us tonight, which is
making Annie extremely happy. I have to admit, they've
been really good. Both of them have ADHD, but oddly enough
they don't have trouble playing together. They're almost
like sisters, they're getting along so well. They've
completely excluded poor Kiki, but that's to be expected.
Well, I can hardly keep my eyelids open. I'm so tired. I
wanted to take a shower, but it's going to have to wait
until the morning. I don't think I'll make it....Night-
night and ciao.
