My Children Won't Eat Ghetto

Never look down to test the ground before taking your next
step: only he who keeps his eye fixed on the far horizon
will find his right road.

Thursday: Therapy day. Nothing new to report on that
front. Dr. Martin's office moved to the third floor, which
means I had my session in an entirely new place. I'm not
entirely sure I like it. The Feng Shui is off. It's on the
opposite side of the hall, so everything is backwards.
It's all the same stuff, just not exactly the way it's
supposed to be. I think he put a new light bulb in his
lamp, too. That threw things off a bit as well. For a
person that can't keep still, I do so much hate change.

Dr. Martin did surprise me today. He asked (as usual) what
I did for myself this week. I told him about my birthday
and how I went out, got drunk and danced my ass off. I
thought he was going to chastise me about it (for what
reason, I don't know), but instead he praised me and
directed me to do it once a week. Hire a sitter and do
something (other than work) just to entertain myself. I'll
value the girls that much more and I'll have at least one
good memory for the week. The only downside to this whole
plan is the $8 an hour I have to pay my babysitter. She's
a co-worker of mine, but since she's CPR certified and is
taking early childhood education classes, she thinks she's
the shit. Whatever. It's a small price to pay just to do
something adult for a change.

Work went by quickly this today. We struggled all morning.
It seemed like the store was busy, but no one was buying
anything. Our conversion was garbage (16% of the people
that came in bought something, which is bad. 27% is
considered optimal. 30% and above is good). Since
conversion isn't my problem (thank goodness I turned down
that management position), I didn't stress about it. I did
what I'm good at. Credit and customer service.

I got off work early today, so I did my grocery shopping.
When you consider putting ground beef in macaroni and
cheese for dinner (for the kids), it's time to buy some
food. My children won't eat ghetto (even if it does sound
pretty good). Instead we had tri-tip steak in mushroom
onion gravy, corn on the cob and rice. A starchy meal, but
better than the alternative. I didn't eat much. I'm still
not feeling red meat. Unless it's a cheeseburger :)

I need to work on Cyrus' blanket (Gen's baby). He'll be
making his debut here soon and I want it ready for him.
I'm doing my best. I work on it a little each day. So, let
me go do that now...Ciao.
