Pink Cadillac

****

Life is difficult. Think of breaking up the difficulties
into small pieces, small steps. And share the difficulties-
then they may become bearable. The secret is learning to
live with and to use the difficulties one encounters.

Bernie S. Siegel, M.D.

Time stood still today. I'm not sure why. Work took
forever to get through because it seemed so slow. We were
making all of our segments, but not because there was a
huge crowd, but because the few people that came in spent
well over our ADS (which was about $50). That was nice. No
one stressed about it not being busy, but everyone knows
the day goes faster if you aren't standing around waiting
for something to do.

After work, I agreed to go to the makeover thing for my
Mary Kay lady. I hadn't realized it would be so long. I
was thinking it would take maybe an hour or so, when in
reality I was there for over 2 hours. It wouldn't have
been so bad if the girls hadn't been with me. Kiki was
starting to get fussy because it was past her bedtime. I
had to endure women in black suits doing a little dance to
Aretha Franklin's "Pink Cadillac" and talking about
how "super excited" they were to have us guests there. You
want to make fun of them, because they all seem so cheesy,
but it's hard to dis a woman that makes $10,000 a month
and drives a pimped out pink Cadillac. Honestly, I admire
the woman's drive to sell the hell out of cosmetics. I
don't think I have that kind of drive, but they tried like
hell to get me to join them. I'll admit, it's enticing.
Working little to no hours (and only when you want to
work) and making P profit on what you sell. There is
potential to make a great deal of money. But, I like VS.
Even if I'm not making a boat load of money. I'm sure I
could take what I wanted from Mary Kay and leave the rest.
I'm just not in the mood for another "career" change. I'll
keep it in the back of my mind.

I actually have tomorrow off! Strange, a day off during
the week. I don't get many of those unless I'm physically
unable to work. Or, like in this case, there's a gaggle of
new girls that need to be trained. Gen might be having her
baby tomorrow, so it's almost like fate knew I needed
tomorrow off. Nice. Ciao until tomorrow.
