The Fish Is On The Hook

****

Tiredness just came out of nowhere and gave me a left
hook. I slept good last night, so I have no idea why I'm
so sleepy. Probably because it's Thursday. I always feel a
little more fatigued towards the end of the week. Saturday
will be here soon enough to replenish my body of sleep.

Dr. Martin didn't make me feel as good this morning as he
usually does. He asked me what I've done this week for
myself (a question he asks at every appointment). I said
I've been eating better and getting in some exercise
whenever I can, but it isn't as easy as when I was obese
and absolutely HAD to lose weight. He said "Aren't you
obese now?" I nearly broke my jaw on the floor. Do I look
obese?! I gained 20 pounds, not 200. NO, I'm not obese.
I'm just a little overweight. So, I asked him that. "Do I
look obese?" His answer was, "No, but you do look
overweight." Thanks Dr. Martin. I feel great about myself
now. I still like him, I just have to realize that even
psychologists say things they wish they could take back,
because at the end of our session, he apologized in case
he made me feel bad. Whatever. I already think I'm fat,
hearing it from someone else only bolsters my resolve to
drop the pounds. He also said I'd be more attractive if I
didn't smoke. Who said I was trying to be more attractive?
I never said that. I'm already married, what's the point
in trying? The fish is on the hook. Snookums is the bass
and I'm the fisher(wo)man!

Thanks to ACES, I had another weird shift today 10-3.
Barnes and Noble opens at 9am, so I stopped in there after
my psych appointment. Annie got a $25 gift card from her
grandmother for her birthday and she wanted me to pick her
out some books. I got her "The Great Big Question and
Answer Book" in the hope that when she has a million
questions, at least some of them will be answered by a
source other than me. Then I got her "How To Eat Fried
Worms", because that was a book I really liked at her age.
I also got a coffee table book (that I need to tell Gen
about). It's a big white leather bound book about the
Navy. It's the history from the beginning of the country
until now. There's even a picture of the Ohio coming
through Hood Canal. Gen's husband is a submariner. So, I
think she might like one, too. It was only $15, but you'd
never know it by looking at it.

Work went by quickly. I spent a good portion of my day in
the fitting room, which was fine. It wasn't particularly
busy, so I just straightened panty tables and talked with
the other girls working. There seemed to be a lot of us
there. Also, thanks to ACES. That program does a crappy
job of making the schedule.

After work I went out for lunch (because I deserve it) and
then took a walk on the Clearcreek trails. It's kind of
overcast and cool today, but it was perfect walking
weather. Now I'm biding my time until the girls go to bed.
I'm going to take a nice, hot shower and then crawl in bed
myself. I'm ready for sleep. I'll probably be out by 9pm
tonight! Ciao until tomorrow.
