Cloud 9

*****

What's so special about cloud 9? I don't know, but the
expression fits how I'm feeling today. Day 2 on the 6 week
body makeover and already I've lost a whole 2 pounds.
After just 1 day of following the eating plan. I haven't
even cracked open the exercise portion. The Getting
Started video said that 70% of the success comes from the
eating plan, so I don't have to bust my ass working out.
Such a relief. I love working out, I just don't like doing
it because I HAVE to. Now I'm chomping at the bit to get
to the gym again. My work schedule just won't allow right
now. Next week is looking promising. I've only got 12
scheduled hours and a couple of on-calls (which will put
me somewhere in the 20 hour range, if they're used), so
I'm confident I'll find time to sneak off to the gym and
meet up with Gen for coffee. A ritual of ours I really
miss. I feel like I haven't talked to her in decades. When
in all actuality, it's only been a few days.

Work was great. Today was the start of our surprise
Memorial weekend sale. It wasn't advertised or anything,
so it wasn't too crazy, but traffic was good, sales were
good and credit was okay. I didn't get the 6 or 9 I
usually do, but 3 is still more than my required goal of 2
for an 8 hour shift. All week I've beaten my required goal
so I should be at about a 150-175% credit score. I spent
the first half of my shift in the fitting room, too. Which
isn't my forte when it comes to selling credit, but I made
it so today, because I didn't want Danielle to beat me. I
didn't have anything to worry about, though. Because
without me by her side assisting her, she didn't get a
single one.

After work, the girls and I went grocery shopping for the
first time in probably a month. Pretty much I've been
stopping by the mini mart or Safeway whenever I run out of
the essentials like cat food, milk or convenience foods
for the girls. But since I've got this handy-dandy eating
plan I'm on now, I need real food in the house. Now the
kitchen is stocked to the brim with lean protein, complex
carbohydrates and fruits and veggies. I'm totally
committed in only a matter of days. I feel fabulous. They
were right when they said once you start, it's impossible
to fail. They even have support and help if you fall off
the wagon. Recipes for how to get back on and make up the
ground you lost. So, even if I do screw up, there's a back-
up plan for that. I'm stoked.

Okay, I'm off to bed. I've been having to get up a little
earlier in the morning to have time to poach egg whites
(which are actually yummy!) and eat a real meal. Good
lord, eating a balanced breakfast has helped my mood so
much! Ciao until tomorrow.
