The Scariest 30 Minutes Of My Life

**

I had a fabulous day. Maybe even a 5 star day, but Annie
shot that all to hell by not coming home on time. At 6:30
she asked if she could go to the park. I said yes, because
she's been striving to gain some Independence. I told her
to be home by 8pm. I even gave her my mother-of-pearl
Fossil watch so she wouldn't be late. But, by 8:30 she
still wasn't home. I went to the park to look for her, she
wasn't there. I went to all the houses around the park and
no one had seen her. There was a couple picking up their
grandchildren at one house and the little girl, Emily,
remember seeing Annie yesterday, so they called 911. 911
told me to go home and they would look for her, but when I
got home, Annie was here. Freaking out because I wasn't.
So, she yelled at me for not being here and I yelled at
her for not being here and we just yelled at each other,
then started crying. It was horrible. I don't know if I'll
ever let her leave the house again. She'll be 30 years old
before I let her go to college. I can't imagine what it
would be like to go through that for more than the 30
minutes I was panic-stricken. It was the scariest 30
minutes of my life. She's the one who's going to be
wearing the baby harness, not Kiki.

I can't even begin making the small talk about my day,
like I normally do. I think I'm going to go finish the
bottle of wine in the fridge and maybe take a Vicodin.
After I nail Annie's window shut and wedge a chair under
her door! I'm kidding. I'm sure she's been scared enough.
If she does ever get out of the house again, she'll think
twice about losing track of time. Ciao.
