My Life Thus Far
Dropped In The Ocean
****
Much better day, that's for sure. I'm definitely starting
to feel better, which is strange because nothing much has
changed. I hate how I feel so different one day to the
next. A week ago I was ready to hang myself from the
shower rod with a $50 Very Sexy bra. Now, I'm feeling much
more optimistic. What gives? I don't know, but I'm not
going to question it.
Work was great today. I had a 12-4 on call, but those
never turn out to be what they initially are scheduled as,
so I actually worked 12-5:30 and I get to repeat it
tomorrow. Kim (the co-manager) had to leave early because
her son was sick, so I got to tackle some managerial
duties. Damages. Actually it's kind of fun. I input all
the SKU's of damaged, returned (unwearable, unsellable)
merchandise into the system, then cut up, squirt out or
basically demolish the items. It's a great way to de-
stress. Managers are the only ones allowed to do it
because there's a chance that a dishonest employee could
input items they want to steal into the system and get
away with it scott-free. I wouldn't do that, so that's not
an issue with me. I know all aspects of managerial duty
isn't fun, but damages is.
I just finished putting together Snookums care package. I
think I should insure it for $500. That seems about right.
It's got a $200 special edition RED Ipod (the one that
donates to AIDS research) with 75 songs on it, a nice
Belkin case, an AC adapter (so he doesn't need a computer
to charge it), two pairs of coveralls (his uniform of
choice) with all the patches, ready to go and lots of
toiletries. Maybe I should insure it for more? No, I think
$500 is okay. What are the odds it'll end up missing? Just
because I said that, it'll get dropped in the ocean.
Okay, I'm going to bed now. Gen and do coffee in the
morning, she's got some lab work to get done, so I'll be
heading my ass straight to the post office to mail
Snookums package, then I think I'll treat myself and get
my nails done. I haven't done that in ages. Ciao.
