The Pat Pack

****

I'm sleepy. I decided to write earlier tonight (well,
earlier than I have been writing) just in case I
accidentally go to bed at a decent hour tonight.

For the most part, today was a good day. I got out of the
house, did something different and didn't feel sorry for
myself the better part of the day. Anything that isn't
lying in bed being sad is a major improvement.

Gen came over early this afternoon so we could got to the
get-together I told you about last night. We had to run a
couple of errands before we could head-out (gifts for the
gift exchange and diapers for Kiki). We made it to Tacoma
without much trouble (only one wrong turn).

The Pat Pack (as the group is called. Named for a radio/tv
personality, Pat Cashman) was mostly made up of quirky
middle-aged people I had absolutely nothing in common
with. They all seemed nice enough, I just didn't get them.
Gen has been a part of this group for awhile, so she got
on with them just fine. Thankfully, it was quick. I hate
to admit I was a little bored...okay, a lot bored. I got a
dancing Porky Pig in the gift exchange that Kiki fell in
love with, so it wasn't all bad. Annie got a bag of coffee
and decorated sugar cubes. She wasn't thrilled with that
gift, but the brain teaser puzzle we'd brought didn't get
picked, so I swapped with her for the coffee. She then
swapped the brain teaser for a chuck wagon piggy bank.
Kiki broke the little blue puppy bank she used to have and
she's been wanting another piggy bank ever since.

Since we've been home nothing much has happened. I managed
to get the house picked up and the girls fed (the massive
amounts of pasta I still have left over). Now all I have
to do is sit back, relax and then go to bed. I'm curious
to see what time that will end up happening. I'm feeling
really tired now, but I always catch that second, third,
or forth wind some time around midnight. God, not tonight.
Ciao.
