My Life Thus Far

I Feel Pretty, Oh So Pretty

****

I was two pounds lighter this morning! I think my
horoscope from yesterday came true. I can't say if it's
because I willed it into being true, or if crap like that
actually has some validity behind it. I'm leaning more
towards the self-fulfilling prophecy thing. I had the idea
that today would be good implanted into my brain last
night, so it happened. I'm not complaining. I need all the
help I can get when it comes to having good days. In all
honestly, I know I'm feeling better and having better days
because I'm back on track. When I eat right, get my
exercise and feel in control, I'm much happier. I actually
felt pretty! I felt thinner, tighter and more toned. I'm
in a centered place now and I like it.

I slept good last night. Not amazingly, but good enough
that I was able to get up when my alarm went off this
morning. That's big for me. Usually I hit snooze 12 times
or just plain don't hear it at all. I was up on time, got
myself ready for work and got the girls ready in record
time. I was pleased with myself.

Kiki's therapy went 100% better this week than it did last
week. Those aren't my words, but her speech therapist's.
Kiki was able to play with the toys and interact with
Debbie (the therapist) without a full-on temper-tantrum or
getting too frustrated. It was so uneventful, I almost
fell asleep, but I didn't. At the end, Kiki didn't want to
leave, she was having so much fun.

Work was really good today, as well. I felt really happy
about Kiki's progress this morning and that carried over
into work. I ended up with 5 credit cards today, which
isn't my highest number, but for an ordinary day, I feel
good about it. Especially since I'm only at a 35% for the
week. Which is good. I'm only supposed to be at 25%, but I
liked my 40-50% I used to have. That percentage means,
over the course of a week 35% of the people I've helped,
ended up getting the card. I used to be worried that
eventually I'd give everyone a card and I'd run out of
people to hit up, but now I realized that the population
is every changing and there are just too many people in
Kitsap county for that to happen.

While at work, Tamara came back from her lunch break and
told us that Anna Nicole Smith died. I don't know why I
was so shocked, but I was. For some strange reason, I kind
of admired her for making something of herself when she
was basically nothing. A single mom and exotic dancing (to
support her son) from some little town in Texas. As much
as people hated her and liked to make fun of her, I think
that was ultimately her fame. So much happened in her life
last year. I think she was depressed, suicidal and on
drugs. Who knows, maybe TrimSpa had something to do with
it...I'm curious to see what the autopsy says.

After work, I hit the gym. I'm SOOOOOOOO glad the family
fitness center is doing well, because it's a life-saver.
I'm able to work out on days that I used to not be able to
work on. Like, the days I opened or if I had a doctor's
appointment. Now, I can pick the girls up from daycare and
still hit the gym. I love it! I'll go morning and evening
if I can, but not everyday is that possible. Like,
tomorrow I have an opening shift, so it'll be only
evening. I'm still completely okay with that, though.

Grey's Anatomy was brutal this week! I had no idea it was
going to be so dramatic! The Seattle Ferry got hit by a
tanker ship and caught fire. There were hundreds of
casualties. It hit a little close to home for me,
considering it was filmed on Coleman dock and that's the
ferry I take all the time. I was a little disturbed at
first, until I remembered that tanker ships don't come
through Sinclair Inlet. Only cruise ships headed to
Alaska, pleasure boats (the ferry, of course) and the air
craft carriers at PSNS. No huge tankers. Thankfully, once
it went off. The horror melted away. Now I'm okay.

I made myself the BEST pasta dish tonight! It was simple,
quick and healthy. Whole wheat pasta of course, covered in
a sauce of caramelized sweet onion and mushroom, diced
tomatoes and a splash of white wine. I sprinkled it with a
little veggie "cheese" too, just to thicken up the sauce
some. It tasted heavenly! Only 300 calories, too! I'll
definitely be making that again.

Okay. I'm ready to sleep, so I think I'll shower and go do
that. Days start out better when I've had more than 3
hours of sleep. Ciao readers!
