A Chinese Proverb

*****

There's a Chinese proverb that goes something like "If
you're doing something you don't want anyone to find out
about, then you shouldn't be doing it". It's a good point.
One worth heeding, but of course I never take good advice
and I rarely do the right thing. So, from now on, if I
don't want a conscience telling me I should or shouldn't
do something, I just won't write it in here. So, as for
today... Let's just say I had a really good day.

Yesterday was yet another really pretty day. The weather
has been amazing here! I think we're finally getting a
well-deserved break from the storms we've been having the
past few months. While the girls were in school and
daycare, I got a good portion of my housework done. Which,
was really good, because I was starting to feel a little
uneasy about the mess. I don't like living in a messy
house. After picking up the girls, we went to the Family
Fitness Center, which is quickly becoming one of their
favorite places. Annie always finds another kid to play
with and Kiki is becoming more comfortable in the toddler
room. I'm so glad they finally built that place!

Last night Dad and I had our Friday night phone call. We
talked about what's been going on with me, how Chris (my
little brother) has been doing in school and the drama
that's been happening between Annie and her teachers. It's
always so great talking with him. It makes me miss the
years we didn't have while I was growing up. Divorce is
messy. But, I don't think life with both Mom and Dad would
have gone so well. The fought a lot.

Guess who called me tonight? Snookums! He bought a phone
card he can use on the sailor phones onboard the ship. We
didn't get to talk long because there was a line of guys
behind him, but it was good hearing his voice. At least I
know he's doing okay, even if we don't have time to talk
about the weather.

Okay, I'm off to bed. I'm looking forward to being able to
sleep in tomorrow. This morning Annie took Kiki out of her
crib at 7:30am, so there was no sleeping in at that point.
I most certainly intend to try again tomorrow. Ciao.
