Driving On Ice

****

I can't complain. Well, I could, but who really cares? For
the most part, my day was good. It was more like normal
than it has been in almost a week. So, that felt good. I
was starting to feel like all my days were out of the
ordinary, crazy-busy and long. Today was more routine. I
like routine.

The gym hasn't changed. It feels like it's been forever
since I went to the gym. In all actuality, it's only been
6 days. Too long, if you ask me. I didn't have a lot of
time to work out. Annie's school was on a 2 hour delay, so
by the time I got to the gym it was already 10am and I
needed to be to work at noon. So, I just did some quick
cardio and a little strength-training. Every little bit
counts.

Work was slow. So slow in fact I only got 2 credit cards
(2 more than anyone else, though), put away 500 pairs of
PINK panties and restocked the Love Spell feature before
my 4 hour shift was over. There's such a sense of
accomplishment associated with finishing a job that at
least 5 people have been putting off for 2 days (the box
of panties had been sitting behind the cashwrap for days.
I was getting tired of stepping over it). Tamara and some
of the regulars came in today to put up the newest holiday
decorations. Now we have twinkle lights in our store front
windows! I like them.

The snow is still falling in Western Washington. It
doesn't bother me, but it is amusing to see how worked up
people get over it. I couldn't help but marvel at how
pretty everything looked this morning. All the trees
covered in white, everything but the road, in fact, was
white. When I got off from work it had been snowing for a
couple of hours and everything was covered in an even
thicker layer of the white stuff. The girls and I made it
home safely, going 25mph in a 60mph area (going with the
flow of traffic). I hope the roads aren't icy in the
morning. That's the one thing I don't like about winter.
Driving on ice before I've even fully woken up.

I FINALLY got my VS package today! Snookums called me
about 5 minutes after I left the house to tell me it was
here. Of course it came right after I left, when I'd been
waiting all weekend for it. I'm still irritated about
that. The distribution center forgot to put the apartment
number on the package, so it got sent back to Columbus,
Ohio, then back to me. Isn't that stupid. I'm getting over
it now though. I got my stuff!

Tomorrow morning, I'm going back to vegan. I decided that
I'm much happier being vegan. It's hard for me to eat
things I know are eventually going to cause me discomfort.
I've been more gassy and bloated lately and it doesn't
take a rocket scientist to understand why. Today I had my
2 "weakness" foods. Mrs. Fields cookies and Domino's
Pizza. Neither of which gave me the warm-fuzzies like they
used to. I threw away the cookies instead of finishing
them (like I used to) and I only had a couple pieces of
pizza before deciding I didn't really like it anymore. It
seemed so greasy. I think I went too long being vegan to
go back so quickly. I want to be vegan again, so since no
one is stopping me, that's what I'll do.

I'm finished writing now. Snookums is watching Monday
night football and ignoring my presence, so I think I'll
go take a hot bath and read in the tub. I might even do a
little crocheting when I get out, now that it's snowing, I
might actually have incentive to finish the hat and scarf
I started for Annie back in September! Ciao.
