My Life Thus Far
Living In My Skin
*****
Today was about as good as it gets. Kiki is FINALLY
showing signs of improvement, I went to the gym for the
first time in about a week, I had a worry/stress-free day
at work (a day without worrying about Kiki's health or
being made to come get her) and I got to hang out with
Gen. It was just great!
Not that I expected anything to, but the gym was the same
old place I'm used to. No redecorating or equipment
changes while I was out. I didn't have much time to do a
full workout since I had to be to work at 11am, but I did
get in some strength training and a ton of crunches. I'm
not so obsessed about losing weight, but getting and
keeping toned is very important to me. I love it when
clients at work think I don't understand their problems
(of fitting into VS sizes) because I'm "tiny". I don't
think I've EVER been called tiny! As a teenager I was
never considered tiny as far as a kid standard would go. I
was in my mid 120's to 130's, which isn't tiny for a
teenager, but little for a full grown lady. I'm still a
good 10-15 pounds away from my teenager size, but as I
become more comfortable with myself and living in my skin,
I'm started to feel that getting any thinner isn't what I
need to do. I just need to be the healthiest me I can be
and I think I'm doing a good job of that. Maybe less
french fries!
I was on my A-game at work for really the first time this
week. Yesterday was better than Monday, but each
subsequent day is better than the last. By Friday, I
should be on fire. I only got 3 cards again today, but it
was fairly dead and lots of regulars (can't give a card to
someone who has it already). I milked the measly crowd for
all they were worth. We made all our segments while I was
there. Our conversions were good, ADS was high. Everyone
who came in bought something and I did my best to add on
beauty, which is what we're supposed to do. It isn't hard.
All girls love makeup and flavored lip gloss!
After work I picked up the girls, then Gen, Sam and I (and
the girls, duh) met back up in the mall. I finally got to
see the new Cost Plus World Market they finished building
in the mall. Well, attached to the mall. It's part of the
mall, but there's no way to get into it from the mall. You
have to go into Barnes and Noble, out the back door, down
the sidewalk and then into the store. It's dumb. I'd like
to slap the architect that thought it was a good idea.
They'd get more business if they had a mall entrance. But
anyhow, It was fun looking at all the imported goodies. I
saw this really cute hand tooled leather wallet and I'm
seriously considering getting it, even though it doesn't
have a spot for my checkbook. I only write about 3 checks
a month for bills that are still behind the times and
can't be paid online. I shouldn't be stifled by the need
for a checkbook slot. Fuck the checkbook! After leaving
the mall, we went to dinner at Applebee's, then I came
home. It was a fun evening. Not the usual routine, but
sometimes that's needed.
I'm ready for bed now. Snookums wants me to call him
before I fall asleep, so I'd better do that before I
forget. Ciao and goodnight.
