"Another issue which is very dear to my vision of the
future is global demilitarization. This my sound
idealistic to many people. I am aware that implementing it
requires a step-by-step approach that will entail a
process of rethinking in policy and public education.

The first step toward this goal is an international ban on
the arms trade and an expansion of demilitarized zones in
all parts of the world. Recent progress on dismantaling
nuclear arsenals and nuclear test bans represent an
encouraging and significant beginning."

This book was copyrighted in 1998. I'm sure The Dalai Lama
isn't feeling quite the same about the nuclear testing
issue as he was then. North Korea apparently didn't get
the memo on the whole no-nuke thing, but since I hate
politics and all things remotely close to politics, I'll
leave it at that. I'm also not sure if I like the ideal of
demilitarization. Snookums would be out of a job! Good
thing there's not a snowball's chance in hell that'll
happen any time soon.

I'm shocked by how quickly today has flown by. It's
already after 10pm! As crappy as yesterday seemed, today
was that much better. Thank goodness. I hate shitty days,
but who doesn't?

I went to the gym this morning, but only for a fraction of
the time I usually do (Gen, Sam and I met up at Starbucks
and I had to be to work at noon). It's funny how getting a
job completely shifted my attention away from working out
24/7 to actually LIVING and doing something constructive
with my time. Not that working out isn't constructive.
It's just it was all I was doing and I was starting to get
burned out with the daily triathlon training sessions. Now
I'm doing a much more realistic workout on most days ( and
the occasional triathlon session on the other days) and
I'm feeling great for it. I just don't have the time to
spend 4 hours at the gym each day. Not to mention, my
eating habits are so uber-healthy that there's no way I'm
doing anything but losing weight and toning just by the
way I eat! Okay, that's enough justification. Bottom line
is, I'm not as obsessed about working out! End of story.

I talked with Bev today. It's been forever. Since December
of last year, when we went to Maija's birthday party. She
invited us to her son Anthony's birthday a couple weeks
from now. I don't know why I have such a hard time
sustaining friendships, but I'm really going to make an
effort to become good friends with Bev. After all, we do
have a history together. I've known her since I was 18
years old. We lived next door to each other for 3 years
and our daughters were each other's first friend. Gen has
given me the training necessary to becoming an
accomplished friendship sustainer! I can do this!

I got a new sweatshirt and two eye shadows today at work!
I just had to share. The sweatshirt is black and has SEXY
LITTLE THING across the front in pink (and embroidered on
the back with a rose and ribbon design). Isn't that so
true? I am sexy!

I'm going to bed now. This sexy little thing is sleepy!
Ciao.
