My Life Thus Far

"An area in Tibetan Buddhism which may be of interest to
scientists is the relationship between the physical
elements and the nerves, in particular the relationship
between the elements in the brain and consciousness.

Involved here are the changes in consciousness, happy or
unhappy states of mind etc., the kind of effect they have
on the elements within the brain, and the consequent
effect that it has on the body. Certain physical
illnesses, for example, improve or worsen according to the
state of mind."

I had the most fantabulous, amazingly wonderful day!
Everything fell into place and orientation was actually
BETTER than my stupid fantasy allowed me to dream it could
be! We watched a few short videos, filled out the
necessary paperwork and then spent 4 hours smelling
fragrances and perfumes, trying on every single style of
bra in the store and learning the method used for doing
bra fittings (a signature service of Victoria's Secret.
You have to get it right). It's amazingly simple once you
know the method. Once Tamara (the manager) explained it to
us, it all made sense.

I was really surprised when I got there to see that out of
the 14 people at the interview, only 2 of us actually got
hired! My first impression of most of the girls at the
interview was that they didn't seem mature or professional
enough. Either they were underdressed or underenthusiastic
about the opportunity to work there. It's actually REALLY
hard getting a position with Victoria's Secret, because
they're so selective. Those aren't my words. Tamara said
it, not me! So don't send me any hate-mail!

I did notice a trend when it came to the employees at VS.
Everyone out on the sales floor was cute, thin and
stylish. The people in the back room where 1)older and not
so cute. 2)young and not so cute. 3)overweight and unhappy-
looking and 4)just plain ugly (well, it's true. She was).
Do you think that's intentional or just coincidental? I
don't know, but what does that say about me? I'm on the
sales floor. It's probably just my imagination.

I got off from work around 2pm and headed up to Poulsbo. I
promised Gen I'd look in on Cyan (her cat) while she's in
Vegas. Cyan is such a very sweet kitty, I have no idea why
Gen named her after a poison! She was very pleased to see
me and insisted that I pet her until she decided she'd had
enough. I must have pet her for 10 or 15 minutes. My hand
started cramping! I filled her food bowl and topped off
her water and then headed out. I almost felt bad for
leaving her, but she's in her own home, with her own
things and Zeus would eat her alive if she came home with
me (if he wasn't petrified of her first)! He's twice her
size, but twice the pussy, if you know what I mean!

After that, I went to the gym. I thought I'd have a
problem working out in the afternoon as opposed to the
morning, but in all honestly, I liked it better. I wasn't
sleepy or cranky. I was feeling good about work and I
didn't have to think about how to fill my day, because it
was almost over anyway! I even discovered a new and
improved order for doing my workout. I used to do cardio
first, then strength training, then abs, but today I
decide to switch things up and did my workout in a more
logical order. Furthest from the locker room to closest to
the locker room. So, I did strength training first, then
abs and cardio. I liked that order so much better. I'm
doing it that way from now on. I only burned 500 calories
today because I didn't have as much time, but it felt
great and I realize now that I'm working, I'm not always
going to have 3 hours to devote to working out. But, I'm
still sticking with it and I'm happy, so I'm willing to
make the sacrifice.

I made myself a celebratory dinner in honor of having such
a wonderful day! I made maifun (a thai rice noodle, kind
of like pancit, but thinner) with broccoli and chik'n
breast strips (vegetable protein imitation chicken, it's
actually really tasty. Tastes just like chicken!) The
girls loved it, too. Tonight for dessert I'm having a
soy "ice cream" banana split. I swear you'd never know it
wasn't real ice cream!

That's pretty much all I've got to say about today. I'm
getting sleepy, so I'll sign off for now and go get some
rest. Ciao.
