Candid Or Comfortable

“There are three types of joyous effort:

(i) armor like joyous effort;
(ii) joyous effort in gathering virtues; and
(iii) joyous effort in working for others.

The main obstacles to the development of these efforts are
the different levels of laziness-primarily the laziness of
procrastination, and the laziness stemming from indolence
and from the sense of inferiority.”

I’m irritated that my-diary is still down. Not upset, just
irritated. I’m convinced that whoever runs the site isn’t
paying enough attention to it. Occasionally, I’ve asked
questions that warrant a response and never got one, but
none the less, I love my-diary, I’m a staunch loyalist and
I’ll hold out for a long while yet before I go off looking
for a new diary host.

Having Snookums home is nice, but hasn’t changed the way
my Saturdays usually go all that much. He let me stay in
bed until 2pm. While I slept in, watched tv, napped, ate
chocolate and napped some more, he took the girls’ to the
library and the park. When they came home, I was asleep
and when I woke up everyone else was asleep, so I went
back to sleep, too! We did a lot of sleeping today.

Once everyone was up from their naps, we went blackberry
picking as a family. That was kind of fun. Because
Snookums isn’t home much, when we do get a chance to do
things as a family, it’s always a good time. We ended up
with about 10 cups of blackberries. So, I froze most of
them for desserts during the winter months and turned a
portion of them into shortcake topping. I didn’t eat the
shortcake, I just ate some of the berries, but they were
really good. Kiki doesn’t like them, which surprised me,
because she’s kind of like her dad in the food department,
especially with sweet things. They’re garbage disposals.
She just had peaches instead.

Tonight’s dinner was the first “family meal” that I cooked
and didn’t eat the meat. I thought it would be difficult,
but I was kind of turned off by the smell of the red meat.
I made some kind of a concoction that has no name, but
tastes good. Sautéed stir-fry beef with quartered
potatoes, waxed beans and a little butter (seasoned with
salt, pepper, garlic, oregano and Goya Sazon Latin
seasoning) and a little salad on the side. Snookums loves
that kind of stick-to-your-ribs food. In a separate pan,
I made the same thing for me, minus the beef. I enjoyed it
very much. It looked and smelled better to me than the one
with the meat in it. This vegetarian thing is going so
well. I haven’t felt this good (mentally or physically) in
a long time. Probably in years!

Oh! I almost forgot to mention. Yesterday while I was
straightening my hair (which I ended up hating and washed
back into curliness an hour later), I got a phone call on
my cell. It was an 876 number (Port Orchard) and no one I
know in Port Orchard has my cell phone number, so my
curiosity was piqued. I answered it and to my surprise, IT
WAS FARMER’S!!! Even though umpteen hundred people
submitted resumes, I was still picked for an interview! I
go in on Monday at 11am. I truly hope I’m what they’re
looking for, because I think this job would be perfect for
me. It doesn’t utilize my expensive dental degree, but who
cares? If I’m happy, then it was worth every penny I
spent. Because everything in my life has happened for a
reason (or so I’d like to think) and I never would have
gotten to this point if I hadn’t gotten that degree. So,
wish me luck!

If I don’t seem as candid or comfortable as I usually do,
it’s because I’m not. There’s something so impersonal
about writing your diary entries in Word. I miss my-
diary’s comforting black background. The cozy community-
type feeling and all my on-line friends. I hope it comes
back up soon…Ciao until tomorrow.
