My Life Thus Far

"If you get proud and haughty as a result of long study
and understanding, it is very unfortunate. If we see pride
among people who have no idea about Dharma practice, it is
understandable. However, if afflictive emotions and
haughtiness are present among Dharma practitioners, it is
a great disgrace to the practice."

My day sucked. It started out okay, but ended with me
feeling tired, worn out and in pain (I had a massive
headache when I got home, which made me REALLY
pessimistic).

My workout was great. Gen FINALLY came back after being
AWOL for a few days (her husband's boat just got in, she's
excused). So, we worked out together for awhile and I did
my usual cardio/strenght/abs routine. It really enjoy my
time at the gym. Snookums got off from work early because
he's on leave, so he met me there and waited while I
showered so we could go to the hospital together. I needed
to pick up my Celexa.

As a parting meal, Snookums wanted to go to the Pancake
House for lunch. He's been eating his paychecks away since
he's been home. He loves to eat out, but I don't think he
fully realizes just home much money he throws away doing
that. I'm in a tough spot. Technically, it's his money. He
works for it, but I'm the one that manages it. I don't
want to tell him he can't spend it how he pleases, but the
fact is, he CAN'T spend it how he pleases, at least not
all of it. I need to find some kind of lucrative past
time, so I can have some nest egg money to put aside. I
feel completely powerless as a housewife. Albeit, well
rested and and far less stressed. That's enough
complaining about that. No one cares about my expendable
income (or lack thereof).

I dropped Snookums off at the airport this afternoon
around 3pm, and was shocked by the severity of the traffic
situation in Seattle/Tacoma. It's bad consistently, but
today it was REALLY bad. I didn't see any reason for it,
either. There were no accidents, no contruction (other
than the new Narrows bridge going up, but that's been
going on for years now) it was just backed up from the
Sea/Tac to Tacoma Narrows. So, I decided to take the ferry
home, but everyone had that idea, so it too was backed up.
By the time I got back to Bremerton, it was after 7pm and
the girls' weren't happy with me for taking so long.
Thankfully, Gen was able to pick them up for me,
otherwise, I'd have been in a world of trouble. She's such
a good friend. No one tolerates my kids better or listens
to me bitch and moan more than she does!

Okay, I'm going to bed now. I'm exhausted and my headache
still hasn't fully dissipated. Man, I wish I had some
booze. Maybe I'll get some? Or not...Ciao.
