A Woman Of Leisure

*****

"The criterion that distinguishes a school as Buddhist is
its acceptance of four fundamental tenets, known as the
four seals. These are:

(i) all composite phenomena are impermanent;
(ii) all contaminated things and events are unsatisfactory
(iii) all phenomena are empty and selfless, and
(iv) nirvana is true peace."

Today was yet another magnificent day. Ordinary. But a
really GOOD ordinary day. Nothing special happened, but I
was just very balanced today. I was in a good place
mentally and I think that reflected onto how I did things
and how I responded to my surroundings. And isn't that
what decides whether our days are good or bad?

Gen couldn't go to the gym with me this morning, because
she had to work, which was fine. Going to the gym is one
of those things that even though I may not feel like going
when I get up, I'm always glad I did when I walk out those
big glass doors. Freshly showered, with limber-loose
muscles and warm from the exhursion. It's a fabulous
feeling. That doesn't mean I don't like a little company
while I work out. It makes the time go by so much faster.

I still have at least two hours worth of work to do in the
house. Gen even came over to help, and we did get two big
things done (laundry and dishes), but we digressed into
discussions of religion, reincarnation, aliens and indigo
children. We are so weird. Snookums comes home some time
tomorrow, so my chores can't be left any later than
tonight. The last thing I want is him to come home before
I get back from the gym and have a chance to finish and he
sees the place in a shambles. I always make sure he comes
home to a perfectly groomed home. It's the least I can do
since he works so hard and I'm a woman of leisure!

So, on that note, I shall go clean! Ciao.
