Denial Ain't Just A River In Egypt!

****

"Vegetarianism is very admirable. However, according to
Buddhism, there is no unequivocal prohibition against
eating meat. What is specifically prohibited is taking any
meat that you have ordered with the knowledge, or even the
suspicion, that it has been killed especially for you."

The first thing that came to mind when I read this passage
was PICKING OUT A VICTIM AT RED LOBSTER!!!! If this is all
I have to give up for my religious beliefs, then I'm
willing to make the sacrifice. I don't like lobster all
that much, anyway. I've never had any other animals killed
to my specifications, so I think I'm okay with chicken,
beef, pork and turkey. The only other meats I eat. I don't
kill fish either, I buy them at Pike's Place Market on
ice, wrapped in newspaper.

I've decided that everything wrong with me is because of
my allergies/cold (I'm leaning more towards a cold now).
The nausea (which I've been choking back all day) is due
to postnasal drip settling in my stomach, the headaches,
backaches, lack of menstruation, sore breasts and
irritability are just symptoms of a cold. Being hungry all
the time is just my body's response to dieting this past
year. Yeah, this sounds plausible. Denial ain't just a
river in Egypt!!!

Today is Snookum's last day home before his ship heads up
to Canada for God know's what. So, we just did what we
usually do as a family. Shopped and ate. We walked around
the mall for awhile and went to the Clubhouse Bar and
Grill for dinner. I wasn't feeling well all day, so we
didn't stay out too long. We left late and came home
early. I'm feeling really queasy right now, so I think
I'll go lay down. Thankfully, my spirits are good, even
though physically I'm feeling like crap! Ciao and have a
great night!
