My Life Thus Far
Sometimes We Need Isolation
***
"When we practice, initially, as a basis we control
ourselves, stopping the bad actions which hurt others as
much as we can. This is defensive. After that, when we
develop certain qualifications, then as an active gaol we
should help others.
In the first stage, sometimes we need isolation; however,
after you have some confidence, some strength, you must
remain in contact with society, and serve it in any field-
health, education, politics, or whatever. In order to
serve you must remain in society."
Today sucked. It didn't look like it was going to, but all
of a sudden it did. Just out of the blue.
I had a really good workout at the gym. 1200 calories
burned. Working out with Gen is fun. It combines two
things I really like doing! Spending time with Gen and
working out. I wish we had more time, but she has to work.
So, I take what I can get.
After the gym, I stopped by Safeway (because the
Commissary is closed on Tuesdays) and bought some
provisions to make Snookums one of his favorite desserts.
Southern Banana Pudding (the kind with bananas, vanilla
wafers and whipped cream in it). I'll admit, I love it
too, and I'm SOOOOOO hungry all the time (at least the
past couple days it's seemed that way). I also got a warm
loaf of garlic bread (just baked) to go along with dinner.
I guess you could say I'm being bad, but I don't care.
Snookums got home around 1:30pm and I'd just finished
making the pudding. So, we decided to take a nap before
picking up the girls (I'm really tired, too). But not even
15 minutes after we laid down, my cellphone rang. It was
the CDC calling to tell me that Kiki wouldn't stop crying.
She'd been really upset when I left her this morning and
apparently, they were never able to calm her down. So,
there went out nap time. We ended up spending 3 hours in
the ER. At first they wanted to do chest x-rays, breathing
treatments and blood work, because her pulse-ox (the
amount of oxygen in her blood) was low. Only 89%, which
meant her airways were compromised in some way. But after
leaving her to scream her head off and freeze in her
backless baby hospital gown, her chest cleared up enough
that they didn't fear she was drowning in her own fluids
anymore. Long story short, it turns out she's got a middle
ear infection, caused more than likely by a viral
infection, that is draining down her throat and into her
lungs. Fun. We were given the standard antibiotics and
sent on our way. I'm glad she's going to be okay. I didn't
like the idea of her being admitted not one bit. It didn't
seem that serious when we got there.
Snookums and I are gonna go lay in bed and eat banana
pudding now and there's nothing none can do to stop me!!!
Not that anyone would. I'm just a little on edge. I need
to cocoon myself in my bedroom, for sure. Ciao and wish me
a better day tomorrow!
