Death By Melanoma

I can say with the utmost conviction that I only did one
thing all day...SUNBATHED! Please don't inundate me with a
million messages about how bad the sun is for me, how I'm
going to shrivel up and age overnight. Or die a horrible
death by melanoma. I'm aware. I just choose to feign
ignorance. Besides, who doesn't look better with a tan?

We went to our favorite park on Bainbridge Island (Fay
Bainbridge park). If there's a better beach around here, I
don't know of it, so we go there. It's as close to white
sand as puget sound gets, although Gen said Fort Worden is
better. Sometime when I'm feeling adventerous, we'll have
to check.

I thought I'd made it through the day without sunburn, but
I was wrong. It took quite awhile for the clouds to burn
off and the sun to come out, but when it did finally come
out, it was intense. Two good hours of sun and now I'm
sporting a bit of a burn. It's not nearly as bad as the
one I had in San Diego, but it's still a little
uncomfortable. I used some Hawaiian Tropics tanning oil
that was suppose to prevent the burn (with a measly SPF 6)
and help create a deep dark tan, but it only fullfilled
half of the bargain. I'm dark alright, but I still
scorched a bit.

Snookums and I are now even as far as vehicular damage
goes! On the way home from the beach, Snookums missed his
turn back to the highway, so he flipped a u-turn on a
narrow side street and rushed through it because traffic
was behind him. He swung around to make the turn and I
said "I think there's a rock there", but he just totally
disregarded me and did it anyway. Well, lets just say our
right front bumper has seen better days. The side I just
spend $200, not even 2 months ago, having repainted is now
caved in!!!!!! I wasn't so upset about the damage (I've
had my share of accidents, all of them fixable, so no big
deal), I was more pissed that I TOLD him there was a rock
there, It was completely preventable and yet he ignored me
and let it happen! Well, it turns out he just didn't hear
me (what's up with people not being able to hear me when I
speak lately?) So, I forgave him and I'll call my
collision repair guy on Monday to have him pop it out. It
looks like an easy fix, the paint is still intact for the
most part, it's just the lower rubber portion of the
bumper. Why does this keep happening to my poor car?

Well, I'm hot, tired and ready to relax. My dark, cool
bedroom is beckoning and my tub-o-watermelon is calling my
name! Ciao until tomorrow.
