Dental Lessons

I'm only going to write a short note tonight, because I'm
tired and I've been promised sex. The kind where I don't
have to fold up into contortions or dress up. The kind
where I just lay back, enjoy and fall asleep afterwards. I
need it. That, and a hot shower.

Work wasn't bad, but it was long, mentally draining and
physically taxing. I had my own operatory today. With 8
patients in 10 hours. Even though it was trying, I think I
learned some valuable lessons. The main ones being:

* Get to work on time! You need at least 30 minutes to
review your charts before huddle (the morning meeting).

* Always update your fees!

* When preparing treatment estimates, set order in which
treatment is to be done.

* Also when preparing treatment estimates. Several options
for completing the same treatment should be lettered
instead of numbered (i.e priority 1 is for 30 and 31 MOD
Amalgams. Priority A would be 30 and 31 MOD Composite.
Same procedure, different material, therefore, different
price. Let the patient decide which option works best for
them.

* Don't forget to imput into Dentrix everything you write
in the patient's file.

That's all the dental lessons I think I learned today.
They may not mean anything to you, but they make sense to
me :) Ciao until tomorrow. I'm beat.
