My Life Thus Far
Supermarket Sweep and A Ruptured Water Main
The five words that would describe my state of mind today
would be:
*Optimistic
*Hopeful
*Purposeful
*Tired
*Relieved
Optimistic-because I reached beyond my "safe" bounderies
and tried things that I've been avoiding since I started
actually working here. I'm branching out beyond the safety
of sterilization and I'm making a way for myself. I'm not
going to get the hands-on if I don't at least try to get
involved.
Hopeful-because even though I miss Snookie and I'm not
perfect at work. I know that eventually he'll come home
and eventually, I'll look up from whatever it is I'm doing
5 years from now and realize that I've reached the level
of the assistants I'm looking up to now. Maybe there will
even be a younger assistant who's looking up to me to help
her figure it all out. One day. I must make my way, before
I'll get to that point. But, I have hope.
*Purposeful-because today was CRAZY busy and I actually
did help. They needed all the help they could get, so of
course they didn't turn down a willing and able pair of
hands.
Tired-because the day was so long and busy
Relieved-because it's over :)
During my lunch hour, I made a trip to Target to get my
Easter outfit shopping done. I looked like a contestant on
Supermarket Sweep (remember that show?) rushing through
the store with my cart. Bogarting my way down the aisles.
All you saw was little girls' dresses, tights and shoes
going every which way. I did manage to finish, though and
they'll look cute this weekend. Tomorrow they'll be going
to an Easter egg hunt while I'm getting CPR recertified
and then on Sunday, we're going to church with one of my
co-workers. Mindy. They'll be wearing matching pink floral
dresses, white sweaters and white tights/mary-janes to
church. I love it when they match.
Tonight I though I'd take the girls' to McDonald's as a
treat, but after driving through an hour's worth of rush
hour traffic, I discovered when we got there that the
place was closed because they'd ruptured the water main.
So, we went to Dairy Queen down the street. Turns out they
are on the same water main, so I had to drive 20 miles
through more traffic back to Bremerton (where I'd just
came from) to go to Dairy Queen, because it was the
closest place that wasn't a sit-down, leave a tip kind of
place. Which I refuse to take the girls to by myself
again. They're just too rambunctious. So, we got home
late. Around 7:30pm and they are asleep now, so I'm going
to get their stuff ready for tomorrow, then I'm going to
bed too. Snookums is suppose to call me tonight, so I
probably won't be able to fall asleep until I actually get
to hear his voice. Well, ciao!
