How Do You Like Me Now?

Mommy-Daddy vacation time is officially over as of...NOW.
This weekend will be devoted to spending one-on-one time
with the girls'. Monday I'll be preparing to start my new
~career~, then Tuesday I actually start said ~career~. I'm
looking forward to it, because I like what I do, but on
the other hand, I'm wondering why I committed myself to
working an actual job when I don't have to. There goes my
freedom. But, I'm sure it's for the best. I've never been
good at sitting around doing nothing for long, so I know
deep down I'm doing the best thing for my mind and body,
even if I'm questioning it right now. The long days and
weeks are only temporary. Once I'm trained, I'll only be
working a couple of days a week and I'll have a happy
medium between my freedom and my ~career~ (career being
written as I smile and pat myself on the back for
finishing school and actually making something of myself,
when everyone told me I'd be a worthless single mother on
welfare. Well, how do you like me now Mom? I make more at
23 than you do at 46 AND I don't even have to work if I
don't WANT to. I guess that's enough gloating...)

As far as my day today goes, it was a good ending to the
Mommy-Daddy vacation Snookums and I have been enjoying
this week. Snookums got the girls' dressed and took them
off to school/daycare this morning and let me sleep in. I
basked in the glory of our king-sized bed, enjoying the
heady aroma wafting from the over-priced roses on my
nightstand as I watched Good Morning America. Once
Snookums got home, we made love repeatedly, then fell back
asleep until noon.

We finally managed to shower, dress and leave the house by
1:30pm. Not without much procrastination, though. We
stopped by the Navy Exchange to pick up Snookie's uniform
from the tailor's, then we headed out on our diversion of
the day: bowling. We bowled 6 games, with me kicking
Snookie's butt 5 out of 6 times. My lowest score was 123,
my highest 156. So, I didn't do too badly :)

After bowling, it was time to pick up the girls'. I think
this was probably the most fun I had all day! Since the
weather was exceedingly warm and sunny, we thought it
would be fun to take the girls' down to the waterfront to
play for awhile. Kiki crawled around (the playground is
covered with a recycled tire product that's really gentle
on her knees), Annie played with the other kids and
Snookums and I just interacted with them. Chasing after
them and tickling Annie everytime we caught her. It was so
much fun! As much as I LOVE spending time with my husband,
I think I enjoy the time we share as a family so much
more.

For dinner we went to Outback Steakhouse. It was good, but
I'm really looking forward to getting back into a
consistently healthy way of eating. My IBS is bothering me
a little tonight, but it might be because I ate enough
greasy, fatty, not-so-good-for-me food to kill a horse.
I'm still AMAZINGLY planted at 148 pounds, but my delicate
tummy isn't happy with my food choices today. Tomorrow,
it's yogurt, fruit, granola, whole grains and water all
the way. Same as usual. My body just can't handle too much
more of this indulgence. Ciao.
