My Life Thus Far

Splendiferously Wonderful Day

I had such a good day. A fun, full, happy, everything went
RIGHT, nothing bad happened, kind of day! I'll recap in
chronological order (morning to now) since any other way
wouldn't make much sense.

Snookums has taken 14 days of leave (he has two weeks off
from work). So, he was here to help get the girls ready
for school/daycare this morning. We dropped them off at
8am, then went to IHOP for breakfast. I only ate half of
my food and gave the rest to Snookie. Although I didn't
really want to eat any of it I knew I had to or risk being
found out.

I had my exit interview at 10am. That's what they call it
when you bring all of your extern paperwork to graduate
services and they officially graduate you from Bryman. So,
I'm done, I'm free! I'm a full-fledged, card carrying
Dental Assistant. I'll be getting my diploma in the mail
in about two weeks. I got a chance to talk with one of my
teachers while I was there. Ms. Born had always been my
biggest supporter. Even when I didn't want to apply myself
or put forth the effort to succeed, she always believed I
could be a good assistant and it's because of her that
I've come this far. I spoke with Sherilan this morning and
I go into work on Monday to discuss salary, fill out
paperwork, figure out a start date and all that good
stuff. So, everything is falling into place.

After Bryman, Snookie and I headed to his ship around
11am. He had to sign his EVAL (evaluation of his service
to the Navy). So, I got a chance to chat with the girls he
works with, we sat around the bridge for an hour and a
half waiting for the higher-ups to finish writing out the
EVALs. I even got to sit in the Captain's chair, because
I'm special :) Snookums' ANAV even apologized to me for
making me wait for so long. Which wasn't necessary. I was
loving all the attention I was getting from everyone. The
last time I saw them I was over 170 pounds. Now I'm in the
140's. Big difference.

Snookie and I went to the mall after we left the Stennis,
just because that's our favorite place to kill time. I
made an appointment to get my hair braided (which I've
decided to cancel. I don't think my new employers would
appreciate the ethnic hair style, even if they'd never
admit to that). So, I've changed my mind. I'm entitled to
that.

Tomorrow, I'M GETTING A NEW TATTOO!!! We took a little
walk as a family this afternoon to our friendly
neighborhood tattoo parlor, American Pin-up on Sydney. I
talked with Ray and described to him exactly what I wanted
(something I've been thinking about for awhile) and he
literally drew it up for me right there on the spot. I
couldn't get it done tonight, since I had ballet, but I'm
going in tomorrow at 2pm to get it done. 3 hours of
detailed tat-work all at once. What can I say, I'm a hard-
ass. It's a really intricate ribbon work with a butterfly
as the focal point. It's going on my lower back, so when
my shirt comes up or my pants slip down, you'll be able to
catch a glimpse of it. I know it's in a very common
location, but since I paid a little extra for an original,
I at least know there isn't another woman out there with
the same butterfly/ribbon design on her back. I loved the
sketches, so the finished product, all colored in is going
to be amazing! I'm so looking forward to it! I think it's
a steal at $350.

I made it to ballet class! It was great. I actually didn't
mess up the positions and I was in step the entire time.
It's starting to come back to me. Jazz was great, too.
We're working on a routine for the summer recital and I
think once we all get it down, it's going to look great.
Snookums, of course will be out to sea, so he won't get to
see it. But, it's still an enriching think for me to do
for myself.

I think this entry is long enough, but I did have such a
splendiferously wonderful day and I just had to share it
in great detail. I'm going to hop in the shower and get
ready for bed, now. Snookums agreed to rub my feet for me
and they are ever so sore (I wore my stiletto fuck-me
boots today AND I had to stand on my tippy-toes for an
hour). Ciao!
