My Life Thus Far
Paranoid Anorexic
What a fun day I had :) I had a little bit of a hard time
getting up this morning, because I stayed up so late
talking with Shannell, but I remembered that today was a
FREE day all to myself and that perked me right up and got
me moving. No work, just fun :) Don't get me wrong, I love
my job, but who doesn't like having time off?
I took the girls' to daycare as usual and made my way to
the gym. My workout seemed to go by really fast today, so
I stopped off in the weight room and lifted a few light
(10lb) dumbells until my arms started burning. Then I hit
the sauna and headed off to SHOP.
Since I so generously donated all of my too big clothes to
Shannell, I was left with 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of
capris, a million adorable blouses (but no bottoms to wear
them with) and about 10 warm-up suits. So, I thought maybe
I'd replenish my wardrobe a little, not much. Just enough
to keep me clothed until I reach a size 8 :) So, I went to
my favorite secret shopping spot. Ross. I love getting
designer brands for dirt cheap. Who doesn't? All was going
well until I went into the home accents department. I came
across this contemporary IZOD sheet set with all the
colors I love to decorate with. Chocolate brown, black,
shades of tan... I got the brilliant idea to redo the
bedroom for Snookums. I always get so much my way, why not
let Snookums have something his way. I can learn to love
leopard print, if it's decorated right. So, that was my
plan.
I spent only about $300 on accessories. Then I had to
tackle the monumental task of replacing the mismatched,
hodgepodge that is our bedroom furniture. I think I went
to every furniture store between Poulsbo and Port Orchard
and NO ONE had a King sized bedroom set in Mahogany,
Cherry or dark stained Pine in stock. I was willing to
spend as much as $3,000 today. But everyone needed a
couple of weeks to order it. I wasn't willing to settle
for some of the ugly crap they tried to sell me instead.
Don't let salespeople know you've got money to spend.
They'll try to sell you anything. Anyway, I wanted to
surprise Snookums when he gets home, not wait a month for
something to be ordered then delivered, so I got the even
more brilliant idea to just paint our existing furniture.
Mismatched furniture is "in" right now. As long as they
are in the same color family. So, I'm going to paint the
nightstands and dresser black with red accents. It's going
to look so good! I've got until Tuesday night to get this
monumental project done. Snookums gets home on Wednesday.
As far as food goes, I've done really well today. I had a
fruit n' yogurt parfait for breakfast (160), orange juice
(140) for lunch, a 100 calorie pack for a snack, a
mandarin chicken Smart Ones meal for dinner (280) and a
slim-a-bear klondike bar (130) for dessert. I don't know
if I'll have a snack before bed. We'll see. I'm going to
make a conscientous effort to eat more (yes, more) and
take better care of my body. Every piece of literature
I've read on the metabolic system suggests that starvation
is not the best way to lose weight, so I'm going to stop
the 500, 600, 700 calorie days and try to aim for numbers
at least within the 1000-1200 range. It's what I started
out doing, but got way from. Right now I'm at 810
calories, which is better. I don't know why I can eat
normally on a "free" day, but the other 5 or 6 days a week
I'm like a paranoid anorexic. Well, maybe I am a paranoid
anorexic. Who knows?
I'm going to go for tonight. I bought picture frames to
put up in the bedroom and I need to print out some photos
to put in them. Ciao for now!
