My Life Thus Far

A Dancer's Feet and Very Good Posture

I had such a lovely day. It was a little out of the
ordinary, which was fun, and a little busy, but it was
great. Good-busy, not crazy-busy. I like those kind of
days. Monotony just isn't my cup of tea.

This morning, the girls' and I left the house 45 minutes
early so I could put up fliers at Albertson's, Safeway and
Walmart. I'm looking for a baby sitter to watch them while
I'm at dance class Thursday nights. Only when the ship is
gone, of course. Which it will be from March 7-27. I just
found this out last night :( and I needed to put gas in
the car, badly. I don't know why I procrastinate when it
comes to filling my tank. Big cars don't like running on
fumes.

Work went smoothly and quickly. I was in charge of
sterilization today, since they were short staffed.
Sherilan (the office manager) and I talked about my
possible schedule when my extern is up and I go to work
for them (for money I don't need). It'll be part time, 2-3
days a week. Around 15-20 hours. Just what I wanted! I'll
mainly be doing hygiene support or filling in for
assistants that call in sick. It's the perfect set-up for
me. Everything is starting to come together in my
professional life. Now I just need to get the other
aspects of my life in order (my new dance hobby, my weight
goal and building my self-esteem. Something that will be
never-ending for me).

After work I went to Miss Mary's Dancewear to get fitted
for my ballet slippers. I tried on three kinds: canvas
with leather soles, leather with spit soles and finally
Elastosplits (they're made especially for people with
slender feet, long toes and high arches, which apparently
I am, because they fit the best). Miss Mary had me try
them on, then do a plie at the bar to test the arch
support. I haven't done a plie in almost 15 years, but I
gave it my best try and surprisingly I didn't fall or hurt
myself. Miss Mary said I have a dancer's feet and very
good posture, so I feel pretty pleased with myself :)
Hopefully after a few months I'll have more than just
dancer's feet. Maybe...a dancer's butt, legs, stomach,
arms, etc...

Snookums and I had a fabulous lunch date together. A few
months ago a little Italian deli opened up in Port Orchard
and today we finally stopped in to give it a try. The food
at Cosmo's was AMAZING. I had an Italian sausage panini
with fresh vegetables and three-chocolate whipped mousse
for dessert. It was decadent, rich and wonderful. Of
course, after eating that I went to the gym and burned it
all off on the treadmill, elliptical, and in the sauna (in
addition to my ab, butt and leg stretches and toning
maneuvers). It was worth it though. If I'm ever to stay
slim and maintain a healthy weight for life, I must learn
to have a healthy relationship with food. I can't live on
slim-fast and frozen weight watchers meals for the rest of
my life. So, I have to learn moderation of normal foods
and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Well, I'm going to go take a hot shower and cuddle with
Snookums. I'm sleepy again, but I know it's because my
days are full and happy. Not because I'm drained by
sadness. Ciao!
