A New White Leather Hobo Bag

I was really looking forward to an e-mail from Snookums. I
haven't heard from him since Wednesday morning when he
called to say goodbye. Almost the moment I walked into the
door, I booted up the computer and anxiously awaited for
it to warm up, or whatever you call it when a computer
first comes on. But, all I got was a notice from the Navy
saying the system was down and not to send anymore
messages. God, that sucks. So, not only did I not get an e-
mail from Snookie, I can't send him any, either. Why does
the Navy hate me? Don't they know I need that one
connection? An occasional misspelled note from the man I
love? I'm sure they do, they just don't care.

To make my emotionally bruised and battered soul feel
better about my husband leaving me and my inexplicable
plateau at 160, I did some nice things for myself today. I
bought a new white leather hobo bag (because I can never
have enough purses). It came with a little make-up case
and an umbrella. It's no one fancy, just Rosetti. But when
you buy a buttery white leather purse, you don't need a
fancy name to go along with it. Snookums will understand.
I also got my nails done for the first time in almost a
year and a half. I stopped getting them done when I found
out I was pregnant (the chemicals are bad for the baby)
and I didn't get them done before because Kiki was so
tiny. It just wasn't important. But, lately I've been
wanting to get them done, so that's what I did. Now I'm
sporting a full set of french manicured loveliness.
Acrylic nails may cost a little more, but maintaining them
is so much less effort than that damn buffer I paid too
much for. Maybe I just like the 1 hour every couple of
weeks that I can sit and do nothing and not feel guilty
about it (while I'm pampered by someone else).

I'm so glad it's Friday. I'm going to bed and I'm not
getting out until Kiki wakes up and starts crying. I wake
her up every morning, so she'll be glad to sleep in, too.
Annie is pretty self-sufficient. She'll have a bowl of
cereal and watch cartoons until I'm ready to grace the
world with my presence :) Ciao.
